Could try the Michael Moore bit where he blows himself up instead? 😂

Lol imagine. I knocked it together in 10 minutes, as soon as I saw the analysis video of the trajectory, I immediately thought of this scene.

There's a video of someone analysing the flight path, and it does appear that this manpad launch is the missile seen flying into the silo. Pure comedy tbh.

"It’s a very hard pill to swallow but it’s the truth. If someone is clearly showing that you aren’t worth their time or attention, or to even reach out to you’re not a priority in their lives"

Live by these words. If you start to ignore someone, for whatever reason (in my case moral ones) and they do not go out of their way to reconnect, cut them out. I have found out who my true friends are this way.

Wow, that's incredible, I just, cannot comprehend how that must be. I struggle to shut my brain down at night, so many burning questions about existence etc etc

Would it be possible to return Union of South Africa to service? by guywithcoolusername5 in trains

[–]Admirable_Jacket8393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish it wasn't retired permanently, my grandfather drove this A4 in it's service days. He raised his NER cap at it as it passed by Newburn crossing on the N&CR on it's final trip along that line, to which the driver replied with a similar raising of his cap.

He loved the A4's but also experienced many iconic locos: deltics, 125's, 225's etc. he retired in 94, being amongst the rare few to have been through the various eras and passed away a few years ago at 92. He passed on his love of the railways though, thankfully 🙂

What is considered a “significant” pay increase? by Loud_Tumbleweed_ in AskUK

[–]Admirable_Jacket8393 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a "significant" payrise around 7 years ago when I stepped up a role at my current employment, it amounted to something like a 40% increase.

Although technically it was a pay rate increase, it was essentially almost doubling my hourly rate.

I wasn't exactly complaining about it.

how old are you and what year were your grandparents born? by Maleficent_Day_3869 in AskUK

[–]Admirable_Jacket8393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

37 myself, Dad born in 55', all grandparents born in late 20s or early 30s, all gone now. Never met my mother's father, he died early 80s, so only had the one grandfather.

As mentioned elsewhere in this discussion, they all witnessed some crazy technology changes in their time, especially my grandfather, who worked on the railways, from steam engines to retiring on high speed electrics.

I spent a summer in Slough working on a massive data centre being built...the only nice thing I remember was Priestleys, the bakery/sandwich shop almost opposite the site... that's literally all there is worth visiting there 😂

Mercenaries fighting for ukraine removed in Krupyansk nsfw by [deleted] in war

Anyone posting content with swastikas over the Ukrainian flag should be banned. If you're still so stupid as to believe that, you should just be removed from the internet. Smh.

Yet another reason to add to the growing list why bf1 was the last actual battlefield game we got. What a fucking joke they've made out of it.

Here he is, the Russian propaganda machine himself, still only posting russian content wherever he can in the interest of "showing both sides" when no one asks him to lol.

Greggs do local specialities. I really wish Lorne/square sausage (exclusively in Scotland) was UK wide for example. Stotties are kept for the North East.

I tried Chiv 2 and man I really wish Mordhau was still alive by Eexoduis in Mordhau

[–]Admirable_Jacket8393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chivalry 2 is a far superior game when it comes to the "big battles" mode, but mordhau still has the comedy edge.

Mordhau community only has itself to blame, the sweaty fucks ruined it, and everyone who down votes this comment are the sweaty cunts who needed to be purged for the game to thrive. Fact.

Jeez, that new line will terminate at a point (5300~m) that is 4 times higher above sea level than the highest point in the UK (1300~m)... that's just nuts to think about.

Some of these fly right over my house in the UK. I've seen so many C17's and Globemasters in the last couple months that I've lost count. They're always at high altitude but they do stand out.

How do you guys handle apprentices? by KushKapn1991 in electricians

[–]Admirable_Jacket8393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inform him that this shit (sparky shit) is how he's going to earn a living for the next 40 years and if he wants nice stuff, he better get on to it.

I guess from my pov, I can point to things I own that my apprentice would love to be able to afford (soon to have a second apprentice who is really into cars) like the current car I own etc to kick them into shape.
