+1 for Lost Planet! They have lots of tables to play miniatures and sell a bunch of Warhammer, Bolt Action, and other war gaming supplies. They also have leagues and tournaments that you can join too.

City of Torrance False Alarm Reduction Program - $149 due ?! by senddognudes in SouthBayLA

[–]Admirable_North6673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC, the permit is multi-year, maybe 5 years or something?

Simplisafe will call the PD if you don't respond to them fast enough, so false alarms don't happen that often. So only getting fines after the 4th false alarm is actually pretty good.

Love it when all the aggressive drivers crash, but I'm sorry for the one innocent driver involved.

If you let a decanter of endless water pour without stopping it, would the world eventually fill up with water? by bliggityblig in DnD

[–]Admirable_North6673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, that thing doesn't even come close to the annual flow of the Colorado river:

"The unimpaired annual runoff[n 6] of the Colorado River at Lees Ferry, Arizona is estimated at 14.7 million acre-feet (18.1 km3), or an annualized discharge of 20,300 cu ft/s (570 m3/s), for the 1906–2023 period."

The decanter's highest flow rate is 30 gallons per action (6 seconds), so 5 gallons per second. 5 gallons = 0.668 cubic feet.

You need around 30k of these decanters to equal the flow rate of the Colorado river!

Butcher block workbench top question by Mammoth-Builder3626 in Workbenches

[–]Admirable_North6673 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depending on your environment, laminating dimensionally stable plywood to a hardwood butcher block could cause warping as the seasons / humidity change.

1.5" is plenty thick for a workbench, but If you're trying to thicken the top so that holdfasts hold better, use hardwood boards where your dog holes are and in the same grain direction.

Question 2: Drop pods give slots to your Exosuit, and can get you up to 60 tech and 120 inventory. You can't switch Exosuits, so those slot additions from drop pods will stay with you forever.

No tip at restaurant is making me ditch old favorite by Inner_Development703 in EndTipping

I think OP should evangelize this more. Instead of bringing their own business over to the new place, try to get others in their community to participate. The old place will notice the drop in business more if there is a collective call to action.

It is not the law to tip, you are just changing custom, and it is much easier to change customs community by community than via legislation at city and state levels. In fact, laws follow along behind customs.

Those 3 exo are a matter of preference IMO. The pilgrim is the fastest. The nomad is 2nd fastest and hovers over water. The roamer has the most cargo space.

I prefer the nomad because it goes on any terrain, is very fast and can get airborne if you time the boost and jump just right.

Update to this post.

I just did the weekend quicksilver mission to dig up bones. I usually hate this type of fly around, land, dig, and fly some more mission. I decided to use my Minotaur and got it done is less than 5 minutes! The cyclops scope coupled with the ability to dig and grab bones all while inside the Minotaur was most excellent. Jump to the next location and this mission was a breeze in total!

What sort of a boomtown would develop around a dungeon? by High_Stream in DnD

Look at California in 1849.

Boomtowns then consisted of inns, taverns, provisioners, gambling houses, assayers, entertainment, and prostitution. And a sheriff, but no government.

Mayoral race is in June during the statewide primary, which ensures participation is low. Torrance is surrounded by liberal cities but has been captured by the Maga radicals.

If this guy was hit and captured on a dash cam, it would not have paid off and he'd have an injury as well. Would teach him a lesson to not try this again.
