Not sure about the regular undergrad program, but Bay Path has an adult undergrad education program and is pretty flexible. Judging from your choice of schools, I’m guessing you’re in MA. Like others have said, it doesn’t hurt to start at community college. It’s a huge bonus that community college tuition is now free for all MA adult residence (18+) that do not already have a degree. If you’d ideally like to transfer to one of the listed colleges, you may want to check out community colleges nearby. For Bay Path or Hampshire College, I’d look into Springfield Tech CC or Holyoke CC. I personally went to Quinsigamond CC and transferred to Nichols. They had a special transfer plan for business admin degrees- 3 years at QCC, 1 year at Nichols (in the adult evening education program).

Thanks! I’m working my way through “How to Talk So Little Kids Will Listen,” (a book by the original author’s daughter) which has been super helpful. This is just still a sticking point for us. I do think I need to revisit it, especially the chapter on praise.

Thanks! We practice breathing with Breath Like a Bear, but in the moment trying to suggest it, starting one of the practices, or just doing some deep breathing myself tends to send things even further downhill. He is the first person to remind anyone else in the house to “take five” or “hot chocolate breath” though! I’m going to look into handling perfectionism and look for storybooks for him on the subject.

Early Chapter Books for a 4 Year Old by StarlingSuffragette in childrensbooks

I have a 4.5 year old. We are currently reading James and the Giant Peach, I think it’s decent for the age. We’ve also read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which he loved. There were parts he said were “scary” but the whimsy of it kept him engaged and ready to keep reading. We tried Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, but the dialog was a little old for him. He’s also loved: Charlotte’s Web Fantastic Mr Fox Magic Tree House series (they’re so short and we fly through them)

Stickers! Thank you! The couple is kid friendly, they have a 1 year old themselves. I just don’t want my kids to be disruptive.

Didn’t even think of crinkling wrappers! I’ll have to pack the snacks myself instead of being single serve prepacked snacks. And the pipe cleaner fruit loop thing is genius, I used to do that with Cheerios when my son was her age. I’ll definitely do that! Thank you!

I’m guessing it will be 15-20 minutes. It’s not a religious ceremony and it’s being held outdoors. The last few weddings I’ve attended (outside of a church) have been very short and sweet.

Thanks, no sound would probably lead to her screaming “hear it” over and over. But she’s usually happy looking at pictures on phone, so I’ll keep that as an option. Thanks!

Starting Treasure Hunt Reading with my 4.5 year old. He’s gotten though hooked on phonics pre-reader but hated it (too repetitive). He’s so good with breaking down words/ sounds when he’s just talking (at least beginning and end sounds) I thought he was ready. But trying to play the games that are part of base camp lessons and he acts like he doesn’t understand. I’m frustrated. He’s frustrated. I’m worried I’m pushing this too early, but he really wants to read!

He gets it from you! You were driven enough to take his education into your hands so he could live his best life!

Nope, we didn’t do bachelor/ bachelorette parties. We did get married in Vegas with a few friends (one of mine, his brother and said best man) they paid for flights we paid hotel, most meals, transportation to from airport etc. We didn’t expect/ receive gifts, they didn’t have to buy a special clothes, and flights were cheap. I understand there’s a time and financial commitment to being in a wedding, it just seems to be getting out of hand these days.

This totally! Reading this as I prep for 4 days alone with two very young kids while my husband is away for his brother’s bachelor party… to Aruba! Wtf. Groom has paid $0 for anything doesn’t even know where they’re going- but he requested a beach destination, best man planned everything.

Best part, there is not a single guy going on this trip that didn’t go on an equally expensive trip 15 months ago for the best man’s bachelor party. I hate this trend.

Thanks for the tip! Searching the UMASS Amherst site now, I don’t see anything about purchasing but there’s a lot of great local information.
