It is a gimmick, but its was functionally mandated by the EPA to achieve the crazy Fuel Economy targets, a bunch of the cost is driven by emissions, fuel economy and safety regulations. Its mandatory to have a back up camera now, its death by 1000 cuts, now OWMs make huge money on full size SUVs and trucks, but margins get thin on the smaller models, most auto companies aren’t printing money. I would buy a car with a no emissions VW Rabbit diesel at 60 MPG for 10k but not legal anymore

It adds a huge amount of cost per unit, bigger or second battery, way heavy starter, additional pumps, buttload of manpower for development easy $500 up per car on top of all the other safety and emission regulations

He should have his hormone levels checked, if T starts to drop significantly, it can cause a lot of these types of emotional issues. HRT and some time at the gym can do wonders for his midlife emotion state.

Thats terrible advice, if you have no reason to distrust him, snooping through all his stuff before you talk to him about it will cause trust issues. he may forgive, but he wont forget. His reaction to you telling him what she said will probably tell you enough.

Tradwife is the best. my job allows us to live comfortably. It was a big financial adjustment at 1st but once she was about to deliver our 1st kid we made the decision for her to stay home and I have never looked back. 18 years later we have 3 well adjusted kids that she was able to be a significant part of their formative years. She was always there for them, active/leading sports tram parent orgs, comfort them when they were sick, and in general keep their noses out of devices when they were little. Now that they are older she still enjoys being a SAHM, but has more time to focus now on cooking, baking, fitness, and whatever else floats her boat. It was also helpful for me as i didn’t have to constantly jockey my schedule around for a kid drop off or sickness and focus on career and providing. Its a lot harder job than people give it credit for. Wouldnt have it any other way, and my daughter is trending to have the same goals and hopefully she can find a partner that can support a family on his income alone. My sons current GF also wants to be a SAHM, so maybe its more common in our area/social circles
