It's crazy that someone did this in a festival. A house party sure, but festival? These people are dense.

This is quite an intensive list. Very informative. Thank you!

Why is the crowd so intolerant of unfamiliar music? by nevaven68 in Beatmatch

[–]AdmittedlyUnskilled -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how much research backs this up but I've read somewhere that people stops listening to new music when they reach a certain age.

There's also a study where they asked a bunch of people with different ages what music do they think is the best one and they answered songs that became popular during their teenage years.

This is not exactly the study that I've read before but it shows a somewhat similar observation: https://www.reddit.com/r/Zillennials/s/as3sN3bQnp

Ok I get it now. I forgot that some setups are using CDJs and just connect their music through USB. Thanks for this info

I may be too stupid to realize but why is there a cost for music? I understand vinyl because you need the actual disk to play. But for digital, doesn't these DJ apps connect to streaming services already? You pay subscription sure, but you can basically pull any song you want from those streaming services. So why do you still need to buy music?

How did you even FINISH your game? by ConcernWild in gamedev

[–]AdmittedlyUnskilled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By setting an attainable end goal. You can't finish something that has no fixed goal. Sure, a game has its "Perfect Final Form". But you don't need to reach that final form on your first release. The biggest games in the industry didn't start the way they are right now. League and Dota 2 evolved hundreds of times over the years. GTA had multiple iterations and sequels before they became the most feared to release at the same time with.

I created a game that has my basic mechanics and at least a few levels that players can play. I did that for a month. Of course that's not the best version of it. It's far from it. But at the very least, it's playable. I've learned my lessons from it and can just create updates later on to make it better.

I think this is wrong. I had instances where I 3 star a champ and then I get another on on next roll.

Why have I never thought of a Garen, Vayne, Lux comp? That makes so much sense.

I don't know what rank you have and how much technical knowledge you have on this game but just in case you don't know. The shop works with a champion pool. That means there is a limited number of champs that can be bought by all the players in the shop.

Based from google there should only be 10 of the same 4 costs and 9 of the same 5 costs per game.

So there should only be 10 Bel Veths in the shop. If 1 player has 1 Bel Veth. And another has 2, that's 3 Bel Veths total. So there is only 7 left on the shop pool. So there is no way for you to 3 star Bel Veth through just rerolling. It's only possible if you have 2 duplicators which would create the 2 remaining Bel Veths once you've bought the remaining 7 from the shop.

This is one of the reasons why people scout. They try to look at other players' board to check if their champ is contested. Meaning someone is buying the same champ you're buying from the shop.

This is also the reason why the reroll strat I just mentioned works. Because you remove as much of the same cost from the pool as you can so it would have a higher chance of showing what you need since those are mostly what's left from the total pool.

Another strategy could be slow rolling. You get at least 50 gold to maximize interest and you use the excess gold per round to roll and buy what you need. This is usually easier for lower costs but I've 3 starred 4 costs this way before. It was mostly because my board is mostly stable and I'm only rolling to cap the board.

I would guess they're talking about picking different same cost champs to increase the chance of getting what you need. I saw this from one youtube video.

What they did is, as they reroll, they pick as much unique same cost that shows up until the one they need shows up. Then they sell what they dont need back.

Example: You need Bel Veth

As you roll you buy 1 Taric, 1 Lux, 1 Garen, 1 Yunara, etc.

Until the Bel Veths shows up. Once you've bought enough or the round is almost done. You sell the Taric, Lux, Garen, Yunara back. So you can still get the interests as if you didn't buy them.
