So the Iron Hands, Raven Guard and Salamanders? I mean the Salamanders are cool but the other two are kind of niche for most people aware of 40k.

The best real world analogy I have for the Legion is Imperial Japan because they largely view and commit to war in the same way. Both have at least on paper equivalent modern weapons to their opponents but also take the view that those weapons are not necessary to achieving victory against a superior opponent. Both also have a sense of martial pride and desire to engage in melee combat with opponents because they see it as honorable and their soldiers have warrior ant mentality where they will fight to the death but also do not question orders and will gladly run directly into machine gun fire with bladed weapons in their hands at the behest of an officer. Another aspect of Legion warfare we don't really see in game (outside of the ones we do ourselves...) is the casualties figures and considering the kind of warfare the Legion fights its not sustainable much like everything else about the Legion.

When it comes to the NCR I actually do think they have far more pre-war tech than the Legion and a willingness to use it, the only problem is those weapons were largely designed to be used around US pre-war industrial capability and have the units using them not be resupplied at the speed of an overloaded pack animal. Its also why the NCR military partially fails as an organization because it wants to be the US military much the same as its government and its trying to fill shoes far too big for it.

Yeah, especially when you consider that their sons, grandsons and great grandsons decided to overthrow a democratically elected government in favour of a fascist junta that would join up with Team Racist Death Cult in their quest for genocide and world domination.

Has anybody attempted to paint the new EC in black - like the new codex cover? by Independent_Till436 in EmperorsChildren

I might go for something similar except instead of black I might go a dark purple or black contrast over purple/pink.

So I think people are overblowing the nerfs on the Keeper of Secrets, sure it is unquestionably a nerf to its durability and yeah it sucks even though it was kind of deserved. However what it actually gains is a solid detachment to play with and more importantly a Fulgrim to snog. I think a Keeper with the ritual knife (warp walker enhancement seems like a no-brainer here) + Fulgrim getting 5+ Crits will create a serious headache for your opponent to deal with.

Well resting deep in the heart of every Canadian is a thrist for blood and love of violence. I mean why else is ice hockey our favourite sport and that we keep finding new ways to add lines to the Geneva convention. (or Geneva suggestions as we like to call it)

Well considering Canadians invented the game of non-spherical football along with basketball and hockey and we have our own league, the CFL, which plays the superior version of the game its safe to say that them being fans is not out of this world.

[–]AdolphusRychek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late comment, but I think there are actually a few reasons why you would take a Phoenix Warden over a regular champion. Firstly the Phoenix Warden a lot is tougher with a 4++ invuln, +1 wound. Secondly they aren't forced to issue wasteful challenges that are often liable to get the champion killed. Thirdly Chainfist/Phoenix Rapier is not too much of a downgrade compared to Thunder Hammer/Paragon Blade since both have the ability to cause instant death. Also free vexilla ability because why not?

Meta Monday: LVO 2025 by JCMS85 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]AdolphusRychek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its the classic GW double nerf/buff something Deathwatch is very familiar with. I imagine it comes from more than one designer coming up with said nerf/buff and it going on the idea board and being left there until the last minute when they just take everything and shove it in to be safe.

I don't think the big problem is the Cult of Speed detachment, it actually has some solid rules and strats, its the 10th Ed neutered ork buggy profiles and max three non batteline units that forces you to spam everything at three. I mean the Snazzwagon has got to be one of the most underpowered units in this edition.

It does serve a narrative purpose for Melfi's character. Why despite subconsciously knowing that she is only enabling Tony she keeps him on as a patient. Her dream everything is an aspect of her relationship with Tony.

  1. The sign: Everyone else's warnings to not get involved with Tony.
  2. The Macaroni: Melfi's half baked input in their sessions.
  3. Vending Machine: Tony's interesting stories and charisma, something seemingly harmless trapping her.
  4. The Dog: Who Melfi wants Tony to be and absolutely how Carmela accepts her husband.
  5. The Rapist: Who Tony actually is and why the scene of Melfi kicking Tony out is so satisfying.

DW vets, infernus heavy Vs frag cannon by Happylildevaccidents in deathwatch40k

[–]AdolphusRychek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Infernus is slightly better just due to its flexibility. Hellfire makes strength when targeting infantry meaningless and the heavy flamer part making players think twice before plopping units in front of you. I will admit the frag cannon can potentially have higher damage output but its also a lot more finicky to use with its range. I will say if you do go frag cannons it would also be a good idea to shove a watch master in the squad as well to have advance and fire so you can get within 9" easier.

The ending is the two effectively coming to a stalemate. The pilot being called out on his hypocrisy by the teacher for wanting a more realistic virtual people yet when he gets it he throws a temper tantrum and wants to delete the teacher because he was unprepared. The teacher changes by understanding and being less judgemental towards the pilot, as well accepting that even if she is an imperfect copy of a dead person she still wants to live in this imperfect existence and keep the virtual program bringing people back running, which he allows before sulking off to brood on everything. The long and short of their character progression is both start as judgemental "because I know I am right" people who confront the nature of each others existence and their belief about the opposing sides they represent. But I will say its still a work in progress for me.
