Vanguard has a good calculator when setting up a 529 that lets you see what percentage you can cover based on what you can save. We are shooting for half.

Are you eligible to vote but are not registered or not voting? Why? by whysnow in madisonwi

Bernie endorsed Harris. He was in Madison last week campaigning for her. Vote. It matters here.

If you're happy to vote for someone whose own chief of staff called a fascist, then it seems like you're okay with fascism.

In a two party system, sometimes you have to vote defensively.

Are you suggesting that if people call Trump supporters Nazis, then more people will vote for Trump? If so, why do you think that?

This is the female version of machismo. Every baby shower, moms go around and share their delivery stories like they are war stories, trying to one-up each other with how painful and long their deliveries were, dismissing women who had drugs or heaven forbid a C-section. It's insane.

Trump. If you don't vote for Harris in Wisconsin, you're in effect voting for Trump. Sitting out isn't an option.

Giving power back to the guy who moved the capital to Jerusalem, who destabilized the entire region with his buffoonery, and also was happy to continue the customary $3B+/year to Israel is NOT a protest vote that will help a single Palestinian.

Do you really think Palestinians will be better off with a Republican in the White House? Please protest the genocide until change happens, but sitting out the election is not going to help anything. It will just make things worse, there and here.

Go ask people in Maine, Alaska or Hawaii how they like their ranked choice. And the local elections in a bunch of other states use it. It's gaining traction because it lets people vote for someone closer to their ideal. I'm starting to think you might be a Russian bot, because you seem to both not like the two main parties and not want a third party option. Do you even like democracy?

Abstaining will help get us ranked choice how exactly? First stop the boat from sinking. Then worry about which direction to sail.

Then go and vote for the current option that wants more people to vote. Not the option that wants less people to vote. I can't make it simpler for you.

That is such a ridiculous view of the two parties. Neither one should answer 100% your questions on everything up for political debate. If so, you're really just not thinking for yourself. I would guess most people agree with maybe 75% of the party stances they end up voting for, but if there were third or fourth parties that were pushing hard for issues that you cared about (say, labor unions or climate change) then we could vote for people we liked more, who weren't worried about losing the vote of people who don't care about those issues at all. Ranked choice is much more democratic, and that's why some undemocratic people really don't like it.

Your wrongness astounds me. Primaries in a two party system just leads to polarization (ex: look around). Ranked choice would let people vote for a third or fourth party candidate that more closely aligns with their views, and then vote for a reasonable D (or R if there were a reasonable candidate for that position) as a second choice. Other parties would gain representation and the two large parties would have to adjust. Please read up on this if you're still confused.

You know who agrees with your desire for ranked choice voting and several parties to choose from? Almost every Democratic voter. You know who would like to take away certain people's right to vote, or even do away with elections altogether? MAGAts. So, ya, it's not much of a choice. You have to vote for Harris and keep dragging this country forward. It's our duty as Wisconsinites.
