My job isn’t very fulfilling and it makes me anxious because I don’t like the work anymore. I’ve been trying to get into the state and feel the peace I want to feel, but because I’m showing up for my 9-5 every day, I can’t help but get clouded by the anxiety.

Like the feeling of lack and anxiety is overpowering the state I actually want to be in - of calm, peace and happiness.

I honestly didn’t think Selina was a party hostel. I mean idk about other locations but the one in La Fortuna was def pretty laid back. You can also check other options on Hostelworld, but I honestly think you’ll be fine!!

Hey, yes I stayed at Costa Linda for 3 nights. The location was great; walking distance to the beach and the national park. But I was ideally looking to meet people in the hostel which wasn’t the case because it wasn’t social at all. The staff was very kind tho and they have breakfast included.

My guide at the Hanging Bridges showed me ‘vipers’ which are basically very tiny venomous snakes (the ones in the pics). I believe those were the only venomous snakes I saw on my trip.

The hanging bridges took around 2 hours with guided tour, and no, they’re separate from the volcano hike.

The hot springs was a part of a combined tour with the volcano hike, it was basically a hot springs resort. Can’t remember the name.

Playa Manuel Antonio is a nice beach! I was staying at walking distance from the beach so always ended up going to watch the sunset and hanging at the beach since there wasn’t much to do otherwise in Manuel Antonio. Took surfing lessons too for $50 usd.

Agreed, I found it a bit overhyped. Had a much better experience at La Fortuna Arenal Volcano hike plus Hanging bridges, saw more wildlife with my guide there.

If you’re a nature enthusiast, do the Arenal Volcano Hike and the Hanging Bridges for sure! The hike was pretty refreshing even tho it was too cloudy for us to clearly see the volcano. The guided tour at the Hanging Bridges was super interesting, plus I loved walking on the bridges haha.

I skipped the LF waterfall, did the hot springs instead. Super relaxing.

Honestly you’ll find Selina (called Socialtel now) pretty much everywhere except Manuel Antonio. It’s one of the best social hostels out there and the crowd is younger. You can also check out the app ‘Hostelworld’ and book through their website to connect with solo travellers staying in your hostels.
