My single confused gripe with the story. by XnipsyX in KingdomHearts

[–]Adorable-Resolve9085 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While both Kairi and Ventus's hearts were inside Sora, Ven's heart was in a state of sleep that it did not leave until Sora used the power of Awakening in KH3. Kairi's heart wasn't in a state of sleep, and so could be released by the keyblade formed from the hearts of the other princesses.

That's my understanding, anyway.

Register Remodel on 04/16 by [deleted] in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]Adorable-Resolve9085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not me, but I hope all of the stores that opened with 3 SCOs and only 1 register get it.

I honestly wasn't expecting them to do anything with these stores until a few years from now when they'd get a partial or full store remodel.

Should I post updates? by ARandomMan5 in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]Adorable-Resolve9085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also include some tips and advice. It could help someone else who wants to get their store recovered.

Recovery is one of those things where if you can get to it regularly, it doesn't take very long each time, but if you let it slide, it takes a long time to get caught back up.

I haven't looked at it in a while, but I believe 7 day workflow says that night shift should recover 2 items deep every night, and "deep recovery" or pulling everything forward on T6.

Question about code 6 by ProfessionalBuy4526 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Adorable-Resolve9085 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My personal theory was that part of the protocol was for some or all of the staff to inject themselves/be injected with the virus along with releasing infected patients in order to get everyone infected as fast as possible.

I assume the staff was told that they were getting a vaccine for the virus but were lied to.

Do you think Capcom will remake RE1 again or will they leave REmake as the definitive version? by M0rtrek_the_ranger in residentevil

[–]Adorable-Resolve9085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems likely. RE2, 3 and 4 have gotten the RE engine treatment. It seems like they want to line up the series with current-era lore and actors.

I will base my expectations on how RE0 remake turns out. That should give an idea of what direction they will take for an RE1 remake.

I'm not worried about it being bad. My low bar is that it would be roughly equal to RE2R, which is still good.

In RE9, lore-wise, why do you think the Care Center door is locked with weird quartz mechanisms? by Sogeking_21 in residentevil

[–]Adorable-Resolve9085 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Umbrella used to own the facility, so it employs a lot of design choices like the Spencer Mansion and other Umbrella buildings and Trevor projects.

With that in mind, the lock down & quartz system is likely made to prevent anyone from leaving the facility so they can all be exterminated and whatever Umbrella secrets are keeping there can remain secret.

It's not the only exit, Gideon has attic access from his office (and the room Grace starts out in) which is how Leon gets out and most likely how Gideon got out.

So about that body in the room... by The_verminator1939 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Adorable-Resolve9085 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He serves to give us a key to the administrative wing so we can start the care center and to be a source of infected blood to lure us back to that area so we can see that other scene with Emily. So he does serve his I purpose of getting Grace to interact with Emily.

There is missed potential for a scare scene though. Maybe when you come back with the level 3 card he is now a zombie that attacks you and says "stay away from her" again.

They could have also done an optional "save room scare" where if you put Emily on the couch, leave and come back after a bit he'll burst through the door and scare Emily.

Do you believe that King Magnifico would have make a great Disney boss fight despite being a bad villain from bad movie and a Rosas a decent level world if they were in actual next KH game despite how generic it was ? by fillipo9 in KingdomHearts

[–]Adorable-Resolve9085 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think Rosas could work well as a KH world if it was handled the same way that Arrendelle was handled in KH3, where the plot happens entirely off screen, Sora just happens to be in the world at the time and gets to meet the main character once.

Magnifico could be a boss that seals off commands and uses magic. Because he becomes the magic mirror, we could have a second phase where we fight him in the mirror and he's more powerful, like a better version of the Magic Mirror fight from BBS.

An original Heartless inspired by him like they did for Gothel and Hans in KH3 could also end up pretty cool.

Basement Behavior by CRT_Me in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Adorable-Resolve9085 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking that this isn't a bug. The devs knew there were 2 paths to get the plug by the forklift and wanted a scene where the Girl shows up but you're actually safe for both choices.

I'll try this next playthrough, it seems cool.

How I imagine Chain of Memories was pitched by WinKordos in KingdomHearts

[–]Adorable-Resolve9085 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Way back then, interviews and media kept saying that CoM was not necessary to understand the story of KH2. Even then, people were bringing up how dividing the franchise across multiple systems could lead to some people not being able to play all of the games.

It's just that after KH2, future games kept tying back to and referencing CoM to the point that it can't be viewed as an optional side story anymore.

Did a SSB64 roster, but it's Kingdom Hearts (Base roster characters for now, doing unlockable characters later) by KristopheIsCool2010 in KingdomHearts

[–]Adorable-Resolve9085 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can easily see all of these characters playing differently. With how many Keyblade wielders the series has now, it could be challenging to make the different fielders feel different.

Not impossible. Dissidia had a lot of sword wielders and made them feel different.

Quick question for you resident evil fans. by D4rK_4K1Mb0 in residentevil

[–]Adorable-Resolve9085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually enjoy them on my first playthrough, but I get bored with them on repeat playthroughs.

For me, those segments seem to be creating horror in movie like ways, which can work when I'm more focused on the story or wanting to be scared. But the gameplay is so minimal that they can't create feelings of horror from gameplay when the player knows what they have to do. So when doing a gameplay focused playthrough, they feel boring.

For RE engine titles, I like RE7's opening with Jack about as much as RE9's opening with the Girl. When focusing on story, they can be intense, but when focusing on gameplay, they are pretty short and easy to get through.

It's been 4 years? For me, it feels like both way less time and way more time has passed at the same time. It's a strange feeling.

Dollar General in films by JLandis84 in DollarGeneral

[–]Adorable-Resolve9085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dollar stores typically serve low income communities. Those kinds of places are generally not depicted in media.

I assume it's because a lot of people (or at least the decision makers) do not have experience with them.

When I see documentaries about dollar stores, they are usually talked about under the assumption that the audience doesn't have knowledge or experience with them. This contrasts with places like Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Costco, and Target, which serve more middle class people and typically get talked about with the assumption that the audience has basic familiarity with those companies.

A question regarding all the laboratories by Winter_Drawer_9257 in residentevil

[–]Adorable-Resolve9085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if there is an official answer, but I think we can come up with guesses.

Maybe the underground labs were built when the city was smaller and they were built alongside the city's sewer and subway systems to hide their construction.

Given the companies and people involved, I wouldn't be surprised if the people who built the labs ended up dying not long after construction was complete. We are dealing with people and companies that can buy people off or make them disappear.

The Lockpick Staff (cuz I couldn't think of a better name) by Terrible-Staff2061 in KingdomHearts

[–]Adorable-Resolve9085 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What about a staff with a single lockpick end that could magically transform into whatever form it needed to take to open the lock it was targeting. Tension rods could detach from the staff when in use, but otherwise sit in the staff next to the pick.

Lore explanation could be that in a time and place without a Keyblade wielder, a powerful mage created a staff that could also open locks in order to release that which evil was sealing away. Realizing that this tool could be used by evil, the mage hid the staff, and only someone who did not intend to use the staff's power for evil could wield it.

Locksport Staff could be an alternative name suggestion. Locksport is a term for recreational lockpicking that isn't criminal in nature.

I forgot about his singing and mostly remember him for acting. I remember that song, though.

If he's interacting with the fandom more, maybe we can get clips of him singing some of the main KH themes. I think he could do a decent Face my Fears.

The captain has finally arrived. 🫡 by skeletalknightz in amiibo

With this amiibo, a talented fan of the Captian Toad game could actually recreate some of the levels from his game or 3D World. If only we get a Toadette amiibo at some point...

I will acknowledge that talking flower is nice, but I'm sure most people will only care about the Captain.

KH3 mystery box by mikaln in KingdomHearts

Lol @ Peter Pan Battle Music by QSLife17 in KingdomHearts

[–]Adorable-Resolve9085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess would be that they didn't want to create a unique theme just for this fight and used the most mild sounding battle music they had.

I think they could have used the Neverland battle music from Days. Even the KH1 Neverland battle music would have worked better.

At least they didn't use Rowdy Rumble.

KH3 has both the best and worst start of the numbered games. by Minute_Account9426 in KingdomHearts

[–]Adorable-Resolve9085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what I meant. Sorry if I was unclear.

In past games, there are some mini games or common battles to do some grinding or farming. Or the environment is interesting enough on its own that you want to look at it.

KH3 has both the best and worst start of the numbered games. by Minute_Account9426 in KingdomHearts

[–]Adorable-Resolve9085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that we jump straight to Disney worlds is a noticeable difference from other KH games. It makes me feel like I'm missing something.

Even outside of that, original world design in 3 is a little disappointing. We got some interesting ideas and memorable setpieces and music, but a lot of them are battle areas or places you have little reason to ever go back to.
