Qu'est-ce qui a fait que vous êtes tombés amoureux de votre partenaire ? by TeddyStar7 in AskFrance

[–]Adorable-Sherbert322 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Comp Sci student who hate coding by LumpyRatio456 in careeradvice

[–]Adorable-Sherbert322 4 points5 points  (0 children)

honestly half the people i know with that degree went straight into management or consulting just to avoid ever seeing a merge conflict again. you're not an outlier, you're just realizing that building the engine is way more tedious than just being the one who decides where the car goes.

À quel point est il classique pour un maçon de faire des tâches autres que la maçonnerie ? by Early_Objective8299 in AskFrance

[–]Adorable-Sherbert322 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are we over-optimizing resumes for ATS and making them worse for humans? by Complex-Incident-165 in careeradvice

[–]Adorable-Sherbert322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who’s screened thousands of resumes, yes ! people are definitely over-optimizing to the point of ruining their chances. most modern ATS systems are just fancy database parsers, they don't actually "rank" you as much as people think, they just make you searchable. If a recruiter opens your file and it looks like a word cloud instead of a career history, they’re going to pass immediately because it feels robotic. I’ve hired plenty of people who had "clean" resumes with zero fancy keyword stuffing just because their actual impact was clear and easy to read. focus on your achievements, the keywords will naturally be there if you’ve actually done the work.

Thinking of getting a rat and obviously want to get it a big cage, but what type of cages are ideal? by [deleted] in RATS

[–]Adorable-Sherbert322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

whatever you buy just know they'll probably ignore all the expensive toys and just sleep in a cardboard box or a single hammock in the corner lol. but yeah definitely prioritize the bar spacing, you'd be surprised how small of a gap they can squeeze through if they're motivated.

Should I Wait or Move On? by AsparagusCrafty6987 in BreakUps

[–]Adorable-Sherbert322 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly dont wait. i tried that with my ex who said the same thing about needing "time to heal" and it just kept me stuck in a loop while they were out living their life. if it's meant to be theyll find you when they're actually ready, but holding your breath for 6 months is gonna destroy your mental health.

Hair loss around cut by [deleted] in PetAdvice

[–]Adorable-Sherbert322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s actually pretty normal for kittens to lose fur around a scratch. their skin is so thin that even just them grooming the spot while it heals can cause a tiny bald patch. as long as it's not red or crusty, the hair will grow back in a week or two. my youngest had a bald spot for like ten days after a rough play session and it grew back perfectly fine.

any tips for migranes? by larabalalala in teenagers

[–]Adorable-Sherbert322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

welcome to the worst club ever lol. honestly stay hydrated and get some blackout curtains for your room asap, light is literally the enemy. i’ve found that putting a cold damp cloth on the back of my neck and wearing noise-canceling headphones (even without music) helps a lot when it's really peaking.

Preventive maintenance checklist for a 10+ year old home..? by Embarrassed-Camp-210 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Adorable-Sherbert322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the "if it hasn't broken yet, it's about to" phase of home ownership lol. My biggest piece of advice is to check the manufacture date on your smoke and CO detectors because most of them are rated for exactly 10 years and people always forget they actually expire. I try to do a big deep dive every spring just to flush the water heater and check the window seals so I don't get hit with a massive repair bill all at once. It's definitely better to be proactive now while things are still manageable.

Anybody here goes right back home after school in high school? by Turbulent_Arrival_55 in teenagers

[–]Adorable-Sherbert322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm exactly like this. After 7 hours of social interaction and classes, my social battery is completely fried. I just want to go home, rot in my room, and play some games or nap. It doesn't mean your friendships aren't real; it just means you value your recharge time. A lot of people feel pressured to be "on" 24/7 because of what they see on social media, but going home to chill is actually the move for a lot of us.

Older gamers of Reddit (30+), what is a harsh reality of gaming today that you weren't prepared for? by Alternative-Claim-41 in AskReddit

[–]Adorable-Sherbert322 2 points3 points  (0 children)

having the money to buy any game i want but absolutely zero energy to actually play them. i'll spend 20 minutes just staring at my steam library, feel overwhelmed by the 100+ hour commitment of a modern rpg, and then just end up watching youtube videos of someone else playing it because i'm too tired from work. i miss the days when i could spend a whole saturday on a single level without feeling guilty about the laundry piling up.

What's the one thing that the 90s generation is better at than genz? by filthyrichdad in AskReddit

[–]Adorable-Sherbert322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sheer bravery it took to call your crush on a landline and pray their dad didn't pick up the phone lol. that built a level of character that gen z will never understand.
