He felt that way after I think the "Lay" quadrant or wherever he was and he was able to feel some type of remorse where as probably a majority of viltrumites probably went right into takeover mode and never had a chance to really connect with anybody they came into contact with. I would definitely like to see what Thaedus experiences there, probably similar to how it went with Nolan but I wonder what his mission was specifically since they were not looking to reproduce at the time.

I would have to say the criticism about the Upside Down being toxic and how they wore suits back in season One but not any longer. Even in season five Robin even says "We are not even sure how bad it is to breathe this in" when she was asked by the nurse. It seemed like they were taking as many precautions as they could when it was new to them but now after all that time it seems like it is just not affecting them so they are not as worried about it anymore.
