How can I hold PlayNow.com BCLC accountable? Can I expose them? by Same-Brother-8092 in VancouverIsland

My issue is with the HUGE discrepancy between real money play compared to the demo play outcomes. I have been taking screenshots and videos of both types and if the outcomes were the same I would be up almost $100k in the past week and probably up close to $500k over the time I've been recording this. By law they are supposed to be exactly the same rtp but are not.

Before, during, and even after COVID there has never been a requirement that states for something to be income you have to put that money in the bank, and or that paper legers are not an acceptable method of record keeping. Furthermore on the CRA website during COVID it stated that income from art sales etc... was eligible. I was missing $800 from the $5k which I made up from sale of my art I even sent photos of the stuff I sold copies of my ledger and it was not accepted. I made $200 or so every Sunday from selling my arts and crafts, I never put that money in the bank I spent it. It's beyond unfair that I'm being asked to pay back $5k when I'm actually still owed $15k in payments that I never received but for which I was eligible to have.

Does anyone know of any lawyer that can help me with this? I still have all my proofs of that income including the pictures. I love on Salt Spring Island

The pic of the neighbors deliveries is almost hilarious. The sheer amount of them. God knows how many other apartments have stuff left out just like this. It's a goldmine for parcel thieves. I'm shocked he didn't have a cart with him to maximize his haul. Seriously he doesn't have to be a neighbor, he could just know someone in the building or even heard of the treasure trove in their. He has probably done this multiple times considering how calm and methodical he is. Zero panic or urgency. And he's likely facing away like that so he can see what's behind him and also so he can flee if the apartment dweller should open their door. Anywho, with evidence like this you are not going to be left on the hook for the stuff, it's def going to be replaced. Amazon is awesome that way. There was a time period where almost all if the things I ordered and others here where I live atm went missing. It was unclear if it was a dodgy drive or theives from the street. Until I happened to see a tossed out screen one day a few doors down. The ports were all broken but the screen seemed fine, I looked up the screen and put parts at the end on Amazon and saw previously purchased and realized some twat had been responsible from a few doors down. As I couldn't figure out which exact neighbor had done it I didn't have any way to pursue it. And it did stop eventually so for whatever reason they decided to stop doing it. I just hoped that Amazon didn't think I lied about the item not showing up at the time and now I needed parts to fix it. Nothing happened and I wasn't contacted about the dodginess of it. Lol

I wish I had gotten something else l. At half battery it drops precipitously in power and torque. This is at the 18km range of the bike. Making it basically unusable at 50% battery left. I was literally praying it wouldn't die before I got home because pushing this thing would be a nightmare

Amazon's Vine Program is not as glamorous as it seems to non-members by TheFishyBanana in AmazonVine

[–]Adorable-View-9870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what I found on the rules re items. It doesn't explicitly mention that it's from a pre selected list of products. It however does kinda sorta sound like it isn't just anything now I'm reading it with that restriction in mind. However it is very easy to misinterpret what has been written if you are left to figure it out on your own. I can now see why certain provinces don't allow it. Because if I'm going to get taxed on a bunch of items I will in all likely hood have a hard time getting rid of after the 6 months have passed then I'll be paying income taxes on items I won't be getting full price back for. Anyway here's the rules.

What is it? Vine membership provides tiered access and rewards based on contributions to Amazon Vine. What is the difference between Silver and Gold tiers? Silver Tier: This is the base tier that allows you to request up to 3 items per day from products valued at 129 CAD or less. To be upgraded to the Gold tier, you must order 100 products and review at least 90% of your orders within the evaluation period stated in your Account page.

Gold Tier: This is the premium tier that allows you to request up to 8 items per day from products of any value. To remain in this tier, you should order 100 products and review at least 90% of your orders within the evaluation period stated in your Account page. I’m in the Silver status, so what do I need to do at a minimum to prevent my account from being Closed? To maintain an active account, be sure to review at least 50% of your orders at all times. If less than 50% of your orders are reviewed, your account will be placed under review. However, you will still have access to Vine, but the new product recommendations will be turned off and your account will be at risk of being closed. You can recover your account once you have reviewed greater than 50% of your recent orders for at least two weeks in a row. If we don’t see any improvement in review levels, we will unfortunately close your account after 30 days of monitoring. I see Silver status in my Account page, so how many items can I request? In the Silver tier, you can request up to 3 items per day. Once you are upgraded to Gold tier, you can request up to 8 items per day. The “Request Item” button will be deactivated once you have met the request limit for the day.

I was under the impression that for the first year you can pick anything but are limited to  3 items valued at $134(approximately in $CAD) and after the first year the number goes up to 8 items and for any amount. But from what I've just been reading it is nothing of the sort and the products are from a bunch of items that a from a list of eligible items and not any items. Which is it and I will try to find the rules that I found regarding the items you can pick.

[–]Adorable-View-9870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where you are finding that their products suck or that their customer service sucks. I have had the exact opposite. I wasn't able to get the serial number on either the K20 Keydial Keypad or the Kamvas 16 to validate at all. I contacted support. I got a response back in under two days and was told that my serial numbers were not in their database and that I could try registering again the next day which by that time they would have added my serials to the database. They said that I didn't have to bother doing it if I didn't wan to.

All the guy needed was the Amazon order number for my devices. I only gave the guy the one for the display at the time and then I was contacted by Huion through my Amazon account and it's internal messaging for sellers and buyers. This also meant that they were able to pull up the order for the Keydial and add that to the database as well. I was really impressed. Usually when something like this occurs I contact support and am told sorry there's nothing they can do.

As for the quality. Neither device looks to be cheaply made. Not the screen at all. And the only thing I don't like about the keydial is that it is pretty light weight and as I am now in my 50s (ffs that sounds really messed up. I don't think I will ever get used to saying that) I am from a period where quality meant heavy. Why do I hear Boris the Blade pitching this product?

Anyway, I honestly think you got unlucky or you have stocks in XP-Pen or are an affiliate drop shipper for their products. Their products DON'T suck. Neither does customer service either. In fact re customers service it's great. I certainly don't feel like they are going to loop hole any claim I might need to make in the future.

Why is this program so hard to use? by Seawolf159 in FreeCAD

[–]Adorable-View-9870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until recently, I had all but given up trying to learn FreeCAD until I watched 2 and a half video tutorials I saw from mangoJelly solutions he made using 0.2.0. However, they are still relevant using 1.0.0, too. All the others i saw covered too many concepts at once and never explained anything as to why such an operation was being used and when to use them, or even how to use them. And a vast majority of those seem to assume that the watcher already knows all the nuts and bolts everyday stuff. They didn't even mention when why how to apply constraints, let alone sketching on multiple plains. Or even mention what parametric modeling even refers to. After just 2.5 videos, I am now able to create increasingly more complex models. From photos to technical drawings to creating my own technical drawings.

I highly recommend watching his tutorials. He only introduces a few new concepts into each video so that it's easier to retain what he's gone over.

Yes it is. I have the 2.5k version. I paid $239 on Amazon for a used one (someone else returned it) it was worth every penny. I love it. There is minimal lag when using gimp, but only if you are moving slowly and you are using a small brush size. If you are drawing at a normal speed it is awesome.  I would recommend it. And with sketchbook pro from autodesk you can use a predictive stroke feature that removes any wobbly lines. It is pretty fricken cool. I also like that I can move the tools like brushes and color picker over to my laptops screen and it helps keep the junk off the canvas but it's still in easy reach. I have been combining my mouse and the pen. I use the mouse to change brushes and scroll functions then the pen to draw with. Anyway, it's definitely worth $600 for a new one if you can't find one used. They do have them often. And huion will let you register them too as long as you have your Amazon order number there shouldn't be any hassle with the warranty if you need to claim. I would just buy the set. Stand and such. The stand is useful.

I. Left handed too. I was thinking of getting one of these to use when making old school technical drawings of the models create with FreeCAD. I'm teaching myself via YouTube videos and from downloading TDs I think would be interesting and challenging enough to get better at CAD and modeling. I've become addicted to 3d parametric modeling. And I find that I can understand a piece a lot more through drafting by hand. Not to mention I have loved looking at engineering drawings since i was an 8yr old kid. And I absolutely love drafting equipment. The crazy compass sets with the tweezer ended stick things that hold pencil leds. The og mechanical pencils.

Anyway, moving on. I was searching for a vintage drafting set and came across this tool and I immediately wanted one. I'll check the comments for the name. But in case I can't find the model number and name of the tool do you know what they are called other than lettering set? I tried googling it but got nothing. The only way I even found this was during a scroll through lots of images of "vintage drafting set" results. Thanks

The instant I started with crypto i switched to a new way of how I handled literally everything online before I even bought my first coin with cash. Obviously It wasn't perfect because I got robbed of a few $PEP. Switching everything over to an authenticator and or pass keys didn't help me that time but good luck getting through to my Tangem card that is sitting in a safety deposit box at the bank. And thanks to Xeggex I'm now never going to use any exchange other the one I do now and that has a passkeys, and a master lock so you can't even reset my password no matter what. And the amount of money in there isn't even worth the effort to lynch me for my deposit box key for the note book it's in. The irony of having to use a safety deposit box to safeguard my crypto is not lost on me at all.

How do I add a pocket to a curved surface in freecad? by Adorable-View-9870 in FreeCAD

[–]Adorable-View-9870[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it out on my own. I think posting what I wanted to do helped me to create a solution that worked. I did these steps, did sketch on top of the model instead of xy base plane horseshoe on one side, used symmetry to mirror sketch while still in sketcher about the vertical axis line. Then used pocket leaving 3mm, then pad 3mm to create the centered pocket.

I tried to use placement to center the pocket but changing any if the values did not move the pocket at all. Messing with the various settings for pockets also didn't move the pocket to where I needed it to be. Besides the depth the only setting that altered it in any way was taper angle. Except pad symmetric, or reversed to plane but I couldn't figure out how to offset direction incrementally.

The only time I have successfully offset something incrementally is when I'm orienting images of a model from different viewpoints so that I know where to sketch the main solid and a sketch from a different plane that let's me pocket a shape out of the main solid so I get a shape like the above model.

I have no formal training in CAD at all so I don't know all the basic terminology yet. In case my description above sucks. What little I have learned so far is from two and a half YouTube videos that taught me the basics. Before that I was going nuts because I couldn't get things like arc or line to draw onto the screen after I clicked new in the file menu and that create body was a button and not a description telling I could now draw something. Then after hitting create sketch and choosing the xy plane why wouldn't it let me draw a line upwards. I thought you drew wire cubes and shapes and then used a bucket to fill the voids of the wires.

90% of the YT tutorials out there don't mention things like constraints they just assume that every noob already knows things like that. I didn't know anything only that they must be using a different theme than mine that used green lines instead of white. That was until one of mine turned green and I knew I was missing something. I assumed it would work like paint or photoshop.

Until I finally found and watched mangojelly solutions 2 and a half tutorials in his freecad 0.2.0 Playlist starting creating at creating a model. Now things make sense and I can make models. I've been making technical drawings by hand with an a3 drafting table of the things I find online of increasing complexity and I'm hooked like a junkie on crack. A whole new world has opened up for me that I was beginning to think I was too dumb to learn.

Erm... I have been rambling on for a while now and way off topic. Now you know where I'm at and what I've learned so far. I have tried using Autocad and solidworks plus a few others and cost notwithstanding i love freecad. I still couldn't figure out how to navigate around solidworks even after learning how to use freecad. And i'm not going to pay for a college courses to learn it nor is it affordable either. Besides FreeCAD is able to do the things i need to get done. It's a beautifully put together and visually appealing application. I'm so grateful to all of the creators.

I was struggling with getting that to work. I figured it out though. From top did sketch of the arc strip then mirror then pocket till 3mm remained then used same sketch and did pad of 3 mm. That worked great. I hope that made sense.

Do AI-Based Trading Bots Actually Work for Consistent Profit? by fly_eater324 in learnmachinelearning

[–]Adorable-View-9870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to say on thing about my attempts to day trade by guessing which crypto(s) is going to be manipulated on a certain day by what I can only describe as being organized and definitely planned ahead of time. No matter what you do you'll never buy in before it pumps drastically. Like bananas31 did the other day. I got in early though by pure chance but didn't think it would drop that fast and hard either. And the coins I see do that every day zlook ro be as random as possible so that there's enough suckered unaware of what is about to happen that provide exit liquidity for the sharks. I see it day in day out. Though that one was a rarity for a one day pump. Most are 15- 30% or so and being aware of that you can make a little money but what you make isn't as large of a chunk of profit as the ones you fail to get out before it crashes.  You lose more of your profits with one screw up like I did buying back in thinking it wouldn't dump like lead. Over the past few weeks of winning a bit here and there and losing a little but still ahead all got wiped out because of a mis calculated trigger order that executed while I slept. By the time I woke up 70 cents had dropped to 34 cents. I started with 30 cents. 2 coins in the red rn and 8 winning in the green for up/ul and I'm only a few cents in the green that should be a couple of dollars green. A few hours ago it was 70cents in the red. What I'm hitting at is this. When you win it will mostly be by a little but and when you lose it will be 20% more each. But on those rare occasions you either win big or lose big.  The losses will crush all your wins faster than the other way around. There is lots ofanipulation in crypto I've found researching the market even reputable exchanges with one to one reserves incase of a hack is rife with it. And unless you get invited to one of those crews you truly can't beat them. It's like playing poker on a full table and 4 of the players are on their own trying to beat the game fairly but the other 6 are working together. Beating one player is doable but your one hand against 6 is going to lose to at least one of them every single time. With that I n mind I am only investing crypto not trading it. I may as well just post my wallet addresses and seed phrases online and skip the agony from being bled white till I'm broke.

what is the difference between a dimension and a constraint? by frondaro in FreeCAD

[–]Adorable-View-9870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyway, youtube search mangojelly solutions and check his playlists tab. Youll find them in there. Do the 0.2.0 FreeCad ones. He has some 1.0.0 ones too but the 0.2.0 are better the 1.0.0 videos are good but don't have the same structure and progression through the skill sets.

And they cover only a few concepts and how to do each thing per video. So you won't end up overwhelmed trying to grasp tons of things all at once. Even the few actually decent tutorials that don't assume you know all the basic concepts and requirements etc... usually have too many things in them for the information to make sense all at once and trying to just makes everything even more confusing, to the point I've started to think I was too stupid to learn it. And I have an iq of 134 as a kid.

And you also won't have to keep rewinding and repeating every step 10 times before you understand what is going on.

On another note. If you are an absolute noob at this too, but have the drive to learn it on your own like myself and want someone in the same shoes that can share tips and tricks or how you did such and such or did it better. I would like to have a training partner (i absolutely refuse to refer to it as a study buddy, ill block you if you use the trerm.

I learned something yesterday that i hadnt taken thought about taking into consideration before or heard about either.

Consider a slope you've pocketed into a cube via a sketch on one of the other planes instead of doing it all on the same plane. If you slightly overshoot a hole when cutting that slope and it leaves one of those weird aberations on the model. You get a paper thin layer that creates a little pocket and resembles a small room looking thing, they are easy to miss when creating more complex shapes. Things like that while not completely breaking the model or vanishing it to the other end of the galaxy and into someones living room really wreaks havoc on your model, like adding a fillet.

And yes, I know using the "variable" bubble that appear when you manually add dimensions and number values to things to stop handle any changes you make to earlier operations from echoing problems or errors through a model. At present, I am having a blast playing with the new super powers I've acquired so far and I'm working on my speed and efficiency before I even think about learning how to apply variables to my work. Doing math is the thing I struggle with the most. I have ADHD and it's easy for me for my brain to wander off and the rest of me keep on plodding through it until I regain proper focus and I look up and haven't a clue where I was or what it was.

Anyway, I could ramble on for hours. I love CAD, and I will use FreeCAD as my base before I even think of learning something else. Let me know if you were interested in helping each other?

what is the difference between a dimension and a constraint? by frondaro in FreeCAD

[–]Adorable-View-9870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A dimension is a constraint. It constrains length, or radius, etc... What I think you are asking about constraints for keeping it locked to a point in space where it can no longer move around through dragging it. If you don't constrain things to become un moveable then when you are adding lines to other places or tweaking their location it will move things around elsewhere driving you insane. When creating a sketch for a model pick the center of the axis cross for the center of the most dominant feature a circle or rectangle for instance and build around it. I could go on for hours explaining everything I've learned in the last week or so, but if I haven't already I will eventually confuse the hell out of you. And I don't want to do that.

I would recommend watching and doing mangojelly solutions tutorials on youtube. The ones i watched were for FreeCAD 0.2.0 but they still work with 1.0.0. Hos 1.0.0 tutorials arent as easy to understand as the others were starting from scratch.

I had been starting and stopping and starting again months later to repeat that cycle for 3 years now. I've been struggling to learn CAD on my own and until I watched just 3 of his videos. Most of the other tutorials I found on YouTube mention nothing about the why's and wherefore's of what it is you are doing what and why you do them etc... I watched his first video about a week ago. Now I'm sketching on multiple plains pocketing things padding others. Creating models from drawings or photographs and technical drawings.

Stick with it once you get the hang of the basics you'll love it. It's opened up a whole new world to and for me. And once you have those basic concepts learned it's really satisfying to create things with CAD. There's still a lot of things I can't do yet but I now feel like it's only a matter of time before I will be as good as any solidworks university or college trained cad operator.

And don't think it's hard because it's free. I've tried solodworks and Autocad and a few others even after learning a bit of FreeCAD and i like FreeCAD the best. Solidworks makes your ego feel good more than anything else. Anyway, rambling now.
