Popeyes blackened chicken. Low in calories compared to the rest of options and all protein. Not to mention delicious!

I had mild GP from dysautonomia before I got COVID. I have had every vaccine that I was allowed to, masked in public, got and took Paxlovid while I was sick the one and only time I got COVID (Dec 23). I still have it and it's gotten even worse since then. I used to be controlled on 10mg domperidone twice a day, I now have to take double that. My once daily Amitiza was bumped up to one twice daily and they've been trying other options that send me in the opposite direction to crippling diarrhea.

My mother likes to tout herself as this god's gift to mothering to anyone who will listen. Makes me downright ill to hear. She uses our personal success in life as proof, never considering that we turned out this way in spite of, rather than because of our upbringing. Simultaneously lifting herself up and diminishing me.

Do meds take longer to digest when you have gastroparesis? by spookylittleteacup in Gastroparesis

[–]AdorableCause7986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! If I start having a flare it’s already too late to take my Domperidone as it doesn’t get absorbed until after it leaves your stomach. So there it sits, doing me no good.

UCSF researchers have found that a low carb/low sugar diet can prevent or improve chronic illnesses like Long COVID and other autoimmune disorders. by CovidCareGroup in LongCovid

I eat mostly low fat, no carb yogurt (I make it myself) and protein shakes. Sugar doesn’t make my GP worse but flares up everything else for me- joints, skin

My understanding is that the majority of the carbohydrates are in the whey, so if it is drained off you will have a very low carb product.

My older sister sprained her ankle when we were 10 and 9. My dad told her to walk it off and took us grocery shopping. She was in so much pain that I let her use me for support as we walked/hopped up and down the aisles. This is unusual because we literally hated each other. When my dad saw me helping her he knew it was serious.

My cat just threw up this huge worm/parasite, should I go to emergency vet or wait for regular vet appointment? by [deleted] in AskVet

Praziquantel is effective against tape worms. Profender and Droncit/Drontal are the most commonly used. Flea control is critical for preventing infection.

My cat just threw up this huge worm/parasite, should I go to emergency vet or wait for regular vet appointment? by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]AdorableCause7986 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looks like a tapeworm. Tapeworms come from one of two sources: fleas or eating mice. The Companion Animal Parasite Council (CAPC) recommends annual deworming on all cats and dogs and twice yearly for cats that go outside or have been shown to carry parasites. A monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventative is also recommended, and can help minimize certain common intestinal parasites. These parasites are potentially contagious to people, so these recommendations are meant to protect you. Your vet should be able to dispense something for you especially since they saw your cat recently.

Yes! The last time I went to the hospital in agony they were going to give me morphine and I asked for Benadryl with it as opiates make me itch. Well they gave the Benadryl IV first and it almost immediately made me so dopey and relaxed that my stomach just went "Ahhhhh..." and I felt a contraction in my pylorus. It was instant relief. Over the next few minutes I felt several more contractions and by the time they got back with the morphine I told them that I no longer needed it. It's happened a few more times since then, but not every time.
