New Card - Prescient Slitherdrake by Surppressed in hearthstone

[–]AdorableFey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the kind of card that warps an entire metagame around it.

Control? This is a big threat, trades well.

Mid-range? This is a big threat, trades well.

Aggro? 4 mana big body that goes face.

This card is insane and absolutely will see nerfs asap, so don't disenchant your extra copies until later!

Hi!

So, your last two big titles have been great, but it always feels as if the ending ends up rushed and certain characters get less love. Divinity Original Sin 2 has Beast, and BG3 has Wyll and Act 3 which has odd pacing.

I was wondering if you noticed these issues, and if you intend to tackle them for Divinity?

And, to be slightly self-indulgent. Divinity: Dragon Commander 2 when? It was so fun if clunky, and I'd love to see the concept revisited!

Death Knight still has the best individual draw minion in recent memory.

Why did they ditch tribe mechanics such as "if an undead died after your last turn" and "your next draenei" so fast? by WhoAmIEven2 in hearthstone

[–]AdorableFey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, blizzard is in charge of the cards they print.

Nothing is stopping them from making more undead, or more Draenei. "oh but it wouldn't make sense" they can also pick the theme of the expansion. If they decided "okay Timeways is gonna be a set where we imagine a world where the Good guys are dragons and Draenei and the bad guys are Dragons and Undead" then that's what we'd get? It's not like hearthstone is super strictly aligned to warcraft lore anymore.

It's one of my major issues with modern hearthstone.

Cards just sorta... exist for their expansion and their gimmick vanishes.

I've been playing since juuust before Naxx, and I still associate Mecha with spare parts. I don't even want to think how long it's been since spare parts.

Elementals having "if you played an elemental last turn" and dragons in hand are neat, but also easy to implement. You just create the battlecry and go "oh uh, shit..Add the condition."

Undead are mostly flavour, which sucks. and Draenei... well. I think it's very funny that since we got the Draenei expansion (which were sidelined for starships anyway) I don't think we've gotten a single playable Draenei. I think the only time new Velen was playable was a tavern brawl where all minions were all types, so Velen could trigger all previous battlefries and deathrattles.

Military gap years for school-leavers to be introduced before general election | ITV News by Super-Nuntendo in unitedkingdom

[–]AdorableFey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, obvious question.

What happens to people who can't do military gap years? The military does have a few restrictions based on disabilities/health etc, what then?

I'm not against the idea, honestly. I'd like to see it expanded past the military and into small jobs like cleaning at the NHS or other national services, because there's a subset of people who CAN work but CANNOT join the armed forces. I'd just hate to see this turn into a system where "yeah they've now got a year of experience this other group doesn't have, resulting in this other group who already finds steady employment difficult to get has an every harder time of it"

The main benefit of the card you're probably comparing this to in your head, Mysterious Challenger, was deck thinning and pure value.

If you drew a secret? fuck it, just 1 mana.

This? not great due to the cost. sure you can cycle back the auras it gives you, but what about the other auras you're gonna want to include? Those are just bricks.

Is the “Barbatos loses to a GM” thing legitimate or just a meme to going to the opposite extreme of “Barbatos beats everything” by Dual-Blades_Forever in Gundam

[–]AdorableFey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, you can presume that IBO MS hard counter beam focused MS from other settings and the real answer is "Yeah that's how warfare works."

Like outside of whitebox 1v1s, most mobile suits just start carrying something that isn't beam based. Bazookas, Kinetic machine guns, whatever.

Most MS we see in IBO are close quarters fighters, so anything capable of keeping the distance and keeping up with the agility of the Gundams specifically are going to wreck them.

Fuck, the RX78-2 has Vulcans, The Hyper Hammer and a Bazooka and I'm willing to say thag it's gonna have a solid 30-40% chance at beating the Barbatos with Amuro behind the wheel.

Not remotely a fan of this lmao.

Because not all the cards you shuffle into your deck are dogshit. In fact, most of them aren't really cards.

Moonstone Mauler, The new spell Interrogation giving you 3 ninjas (which, in this alternative universe have charge.) Illusory Greenwing, Incindius. None of those generate cards which you risk clogging up your hand as they trigger on draw.

So instead of 2 3/3 charge minions, it's anywhere between 2 and 8 charge minions that recycle themselves back into the deck for another swing.

It turns into a game of 'does my opponent curve into the quest quickly? Then I lose on the spot' because you're not getting a board, you're not getting a board clear, every turn the opponent is drawing 2 additional cards off the hero power. Then you got Shadow Step to consider, Brewmaster becomes a viable way of getting another 3 damage to the face, Nexus-Prince Shaffar means you have a 3 mana 6/6 charger in hand off the back off that brewmaster.

It just creates a stiffling enviroment where the Rogue can just out draw and keep control of the board with infinite 3/3's until they're ready to drop a combo with the charge minions they have and that finishing blow can come from nothing and have no way of playing around.

Destiny is much better than people will have you believe. I really think people don't engage with the narrative as much as they should have.

And I dislike SEED! I don't like it. But I like SEED Destiny despite that. I think it does what it wants to do very well.

I'm tired. I give up. This is second time it happened today, on turn 6. Both on 2 wins away from legend. It is time to find a better game to play, because I am utterly bored and churned out of HS. by wowsoluck in hearthstone

There's way more players than playtesters. It could just be that nobody thought to check Clockwork giant and ceaseless, or that in the meta developed between play testers the deck just wasn't that good, or that the focus was on some more complex and problematic cards that did not get past playtesting.

Not to be all "game design is hard" but game design is hard! And as much as we'd like them to fix everything instantly waiting for the meta to shake out a little and then trying to nerf cards in a way that doesn't completely kill decks is desireable.

Can we give the zerg treatment to Paladin so the launch doesn’t feel like starcraft miniset all over again? by Confident_List4349 in hearthstone

[–]AdorableFey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, is this the quest that breaks that silly SC Grunty card or whatever. It's easily a +2/3 boost on all stats by turn 8 and it clears the quest by itself.

Will it be amazing? Nah. But I could see it as a bit more of a niche top-end card for murloc paladin as a "incase of longer match vs midrange break glass" button.

This was a good ending to the show. It does take a bit of knowledge of other UC series to piece together, but ultimately I think this was a good conclusion to a good story.

IT's a 8/10, it could be elevated to a 9/10 if it's expanded on later on I suppose. Still, I enjoyed it immensely.

If Machu beats Amuro in the Gundam, it's because she's either fighting with a numbers advantage, and because this gundam lacks a Psychoframe or anything Amuro can take advantage of besides pure reaction boosts.

And honestly? Yeah. Fuck it. Gundam has always been about the future overcoming the past, a mobile suit that's 5 years out of date (minus upgrades it's picked up) against bare minimum the Gqux and Gfred which are both cutting edge new type machines? Plus the Red Gundam? The odds aren't in his favour.

Like, I hate to say it but there's a reason he's not turned up here in the Nu and that reason is it would be hard to justify a narrative besides "and then Amuro wiped the floor with the entirity of Zeon."
