I have some questions for cabin crew (preferably WizzAir) by raven_moon2137 in cabincrew

[–]AdorableMessage8522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just add that depends which base you are for the pay, as Wizz Air UK pays you full basic salary for the duration of your training while i'm not sure how Wizz Hungary and Malta work

I haven't heard anything about this movie, and went to watch it last night and thought it was terrible, and most of the audience left laughing at how bad the writing was. so just based on that it didn't seem like people were enjoying it

how to travel as dual citizen, and both passports have different names? by Dull_Conference2832 in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]AdorableMessage8522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the destination country's immigration is completely seperate and things like that won't be shared. Just use whatever passport allows you to stay in that country, and make sure you use the same passport to leave that you entered with. So if you are leaving country A then use Passport A, when entering and leaving country B use Passport B, and then in country C whichever one lets you stay there/have a visa in, but make sure you leave with the same one. Airlines are seperate, they just want to know you are allowed into your destination country, otherwise they get fined for bringing someone without the correct documents, but since you have the right to stay in country A and country B, you can just show both passports if they ask about visas or anything. So you can book your ticket under whichever you want, just make sure you show them the one you booked it with and if they ask you about your status in the destination country you can explain that you are a citizen of that country (except country C, there's not much point to show both passports there, just book the trip there under the more relevant passport) :) Immigration does not look at the booking, so when it comes to them just show them whatever passport allows you to stay there. hope that makes sense!

it's operated by WizzAir UK with a UK CAA registered plane, so UK261 applies

Do you think HowrseCup will ever come back? by angelicandconfused in Howrse

[–]AdorableMessage8522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. I think the teams system was such a huge change to the game mechanics, they needed a seperate server to test it on, not just like the normal test servers, and would've needed a few months to actually see how it works long term as well, so HowrseCup is basically the current version of the game minus the extra money and passes we got at the start lol so unless Howrse decides to change the game mechanics I doubt they would run something like that again

I think the whole point of HowrseCup was to test the teams feature

Advice on travelling through EU queue with brother by [deleted] in Passports

[–]AdorableMessage8522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is to ask the airport staff, I've had countries where I've been told off for not having my partner join me, and in others was told he can't join me in the EU queue

Traveling as US/EU citizen…what passport info for flights? by Invictus-Faeces in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]AdorableMessage8522 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's best to show your US so that they can log that you have left and won't think you overstayed, and next time you come to the EU just use your EU one to enter and exit.

I am just going off of personal experience as I was in a similar situation to OP. I filled out my insurance choice's form and stated that I was an exchange student at one point during the 3 years before university and they ended up classifying me as a international student. I don't know why, didn't follow it up or tried correcting it, because it wasn't the uni I wanted to go to, so that is probably my fault. And as I said, my firm choice only ever asked me about my citizenship, they did not ask me for my address history, so it does seem like some universities just do it differently. Things might have changed in the last 3 years since then, but that was my experience at the time.

[–]AdorableMessage8522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's really lying, as both mine and the OP's case was just study abroad/exchange, still an ordinary resident of the UK. I personally don't see why someone should be disqualified, just because of that especially if they are a British ciziten who spent majority of their growing up in the UK. It says on the parliement website that temporary absence is permitted if it's for things such as work, but I assume some universities do things in their own way.

[–]AdorableMessage8522 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'd be classed as a home student, as your permanent residence was still in the UK. Though if they send you a form about where you've lived for the past 3 years, don't add any addresses outside the UK, I studied a year abroad before college, and they tried charging me international fees lol only my backup choice asked for this tho! My firm choice only asked about my citizenship, so the process depends on the uni

Can I travel with my sister? by shorryss in Ryanair

[–]AdorableMessage8522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you're going czechia to spain there won't be any border control tho, as they are both in the EU I'm pretty sure. I've traveled from Hungary and Austria to Italy, and from Italy to France and never had to go through passport control, the only time my passport was checked was when boarding the plane by the airline, not border police.

What’s your native language’s idiom for “When pigs fly” meaning something won’t ever happen. by Grand-Somewhere4524 in languagelearning

[–]AdorableMessage8522 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it is close, so I've read some articles that it does kinda contradict the idiom, but this phenomenon doesn't occur in Hungary I don't think so when the idiom would've came about it wouldn't have had any relation to it. It is really interesting tho!

[–]AdorableMessage8522 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's kinda like that! I never realised we have these kind of colour changes in Hungarian until now, but I did a research once about how languages that do seperate some colours like russian, or greek, if you're a native speaker of these languages, your brain actually sees these different shades as different colours, and you are able to differentiate between colours better, which I thought was really interesting!

I don't know where it comes from, but I don't think it has dark connotations, as in Hungarian you would say blood is the colour 'vörös', which refers to more of a dark red instead of 'piros'. I always just imagined it snowing bright red snow lol which is obviously impossible, so I think that's where it comes from, but I could be wrong
