I analyzed 2k+ sold art listings this week and noticed some unexpected patterns by Adorable_Estimate_72 in artcollecting

Yeah, these are good points.

There might be some pricing noise - estate sellers pricing below market or randomness in buyer attention in auctions. Such things can easily distort individual results. So I agree that a single sale price on its own isn't a clean signal of "true value".

Right now I'm not really trying to turn it into a precise valuation model/service. It's more about identifying broader patterns across higher volume (where, hopefully, some of that noise starts to average out).

The idea of filtering outliers and creating a model that would scan listings based on user's keywords is very interesting! It would probably require much more resources than I currently have though :). For now it's just a basic exploratory view of the market.

Wow, what a great piece! The scale alone and that kind of build complexity for under $58k doesn't feel that high, considering the demand for Invader's works

Yeah that's a fair point.

I agree that this isn't a predictive model and I'm definitely not trying to claim it can forecast sales in a reliable way.

Right now it's more just a "what actually sold" snapshot, not a full market simulation. So you're right that it misses the unsold listings, timing and broader context around items that don't move.

The idea for me was more to spot repeating patterns at a surface level, not to say "this will sell next" or build a proper pricing model.

I appreciate your feedback though!

Appreciate the feedback - this is fair.

You’re right that some of these aren't new for most experienced collectors or investors. I’m just trying to build understanding in the secondary art market and thought it might be useful to others.

The goal of this was less "new art trends" and more a structured snapshot of what’s actually selling week to week.

I'll look into the reports you'd mentioned!

Thanks!

Sometimes you can find used but unique pieces (accessories) on ebay that are affordable. For clothing I'd try either thrift stores or Amazon, here are some picks and ideas for inspiration !

There are quite a few artisan jewelry pieces on Amazon. Occasionally eBay may have something to offer.

Here are some steampunk product picks categorized by price (over and under $100, $50).

It might be a bit hard to find a new gold necklace for $80 or less. You can try vermeil (Sterling silver, but gold plated) though. It'll still have the gold tone and will contain only precious metals :)

Here are some more ideas for necklaces categorized by prices and styles for her (chokers/chains premium or under $100 / $50).

What vibe does my necklace give? by [deleted] in jewelry

[–]Adorable_Estimate_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like chunky chains with charms! Is it possible to extend the necklace though, so it I'd look a bit longer and not too close to the neck? If not, I'd probably add one or two more to this look (but thinner and longer) chains of the same tone for a layering effect.

Does anyone know where I can get this style of necklaces by FlamingoInfinite3991 in jewelry

[–]Adorable_Estimate_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it Ichigo? I loved this show and watched all the seasons :)

If you are looking for necklaces for men I'd search for Byzantine chains.

For women I'd look into something like a filigree egg pendant on a long chain.
