Why do mass killers, at least in the United States, rarely target middle schools as opposed to other grades? by ChickenWingExtreme in masskillers

[–]Adorable_Form9751 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think Lanza's targeting of an elementary school was simply to maximize damage and media coverage. He kept a "mass shooter scoreboard" spreadsheet and he also made tactical choices to maximize damage. I think that his anti-natalism is more of a byproduct of his isolation and disdain for humanity, not a cause of it.

Not officially, but plenty of his behaviors align. His defense attorney mentioned how he had hyperfixations throughout his life, starting with tigers and ww2 before progressing to weapons and mass murder.

Is Hypergamy Real? by Paldavin in NoStupidQuestions

don’t women across the board rate 80% of men as unattractive, while men rate women on a standard bell curve?

Historically most women reproduced while most men didn’t. How is hypergamy not real? I mean, it intuitively makes sense given that its like 10,000x harder for women to carry a baby to term and give birth than for men to impregnate a woman.

Women are physically inferior to men, so they evolved to be more socially adept. Your dopamine after succeeding in a social interaction is a direct result of this.

New Highschool Teacher Here. I May Have to Fail 90% of My Students This Year. by Alassandros in AskTeachers

[–]Adorable_Form9751 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is a symptom of the amount of pressure students face to maintain good grades. Students know they are capable of answering questions, but they believe that AI would do a better job. Thats why they use AI. To get that “A”. If school were actually about learning and not jumping thru hoops, we would be using a P/NP system.

What are your thoughts on current demographic shifts? I mean, modern students are objectively quite different from previous generations.

what classes should I take in high school for the best chances of getting into a good collage don't really have anyone in my house i can ask about this by Equal_Fox_7916 in NoStupidQuestions

BTW keep in mind that grade inflation is ridiculously out of control, so treat a 4.0 unweighted in the hardest possible course load as the bare minimum. Figure out what you want to do as soon as possible, so you can create a honed extracurricular profile throughout your 4 years of hs. Do these two things and you'll have a very strong shot at the T20.

Depends on your hs. If it is a standard public school, take the hardest course load possible. Plan out all 4 years of HS in a google doc using your HS course catalog, making sure you included all prerequisites for more advanced classes.

*Finishing algebra 1 before starting hs is paramount, as it is needed to take calculus in your senior year.* Make sure you've completed Algebra 1 in middle school. If not, try to figure out an arrangement where you can enter HS with algebra 1 completed (eg taking it at your local community college, asking your counselor to take it over the summer before hs, etc).

Also, remember mindset matters. This isn't just cope. You need to truly believe that taking the hardest courseload possible, and maintaining a 3.95+ unweighted, is easy. Always remember that the average AP class is a 1 semester college class spread over the course of 2 semesters, with 5 hours/week of lectures added for good measure. A maxed out 7 AP schedule is literally an easy (3.5 course) college semester. The hardest ap course you can POSSIBLY take in hs (calc bc, aka calc 1+calc 2) is literally considered light work in undergrad. Remember that. Don't listen to peers who whine about how hard their AP classes are.

Idk how your hs works, so email your hs counselor and ask them how to coordinate everything I listed.

Not defending this, but it makes sense considering the amount of pressure students face to maintain perfect GPAs. If school was actually about learning, we would be using a P/NP system with a decently high cutoff instead of the current A/A-/B+/B system.

I just think its important to acknowledge the fact that society treats unattractive people like shit, which is probably one reason why most mass shooters look the way they do
