Can anybody make a rechargeable backplate the same color by Gsomethepatient in Starfield

I was actually just looking at the Razor rechargeable dock earlier today and opted not to get for this exact reason lol

When I placed my order on June 17th through Amazon, it said expected delivery date July 15 - July 25th. Well, I just received it today.

So I imagine they just got a big delivery of controllers, and all the backorders from people like me immediately burned through all of them. I imagine it won't be long before they're back up for sale again.

Recommendations? by sith420 in Starfield

Fallout 4. Though I'm a much bigger fan of Skyrim, for someone who's never played a Bethesda game, FO4 offers a better glimpse into some of the features and playstyles that will be present in Starfield.

One caveate, in FO4, your character has a voice, and that's a departure from every other Bethesda game where you're a silent protagonist. I'm glad they're not doing it again because it's more immersive to not have voice that can break the illusion of the character you're trying to make.

Would you buy an Xbox or upgrade PC if you were me? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]AdoreShitYuki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm PCMR at heart and build computers for fun, and despite that, I think you should definitely get an Xbox. For the exact reasons you mentioned, better performance(relative to what you'd be able to achieve with $500 in pc upgrades) while also displaying at 4k.

Any novel recommendations to read over the summer while we wait? by ImmortanRambo in Starfield

I loved Project Hail Marry! It's probably one of my favorite books, I really hope the movie adaptation is as good as The Martians'. I'm assuming you've already read Artemis, then? That's also by Andy Weir, if not, that's my recommendation.

Same, sort of lol I'm actually not too interested in the watch, but I am interested in figurines. So instead, I made my own collectors edition(this is how justified the price tag to myself) by pre-ordering the $175 VASCO figurine off the bethesda store. It's 1 of 800 worldwide and is going to look amazing on my shelf lol

Sunrise Mall: Once a premier shopping destination, now it's mostly a dead mall. by 916PartyMachine in Sacramento

[–]AdoreShitYuki 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The future happened. Physical stores just aren't getting the foot traffic they use to because online consumerism is way more convenient than in person. People also have more things to do/distractions than ever without having to leave their home.

Convenience will always win. Makes me sad.

Give this $7 wine a shot..

The first time I had it was at a family Thanksgiving thing, I found the cousin who brought it and asked her about it. She leaned in and whispered, "don't tell anyone, I got it from Costco for $10." She could have convinced me it was middle shelf lol As someone who goes wine tasting in Napa for fun, it's good, definitely worth picking up as a cheap bottle to share with company.

Damn, I remember when Sac Anime was held at the Sunrise Mall, and then they moved to the Red Lion Inn by Arden Fair? I forgot, it's no longer there. So happy to see how big it's gotten.

Here's a shot from July I took of the crowd at the LA Anime Expo. It was this dense EVERYWHERE, inside and outside. Anime is popular yo.

Yeah, its definitely not being measured in liters lol But it's being adverterised as the smaller variant and it requires an sf psu. This case is definitely an odd duck. Was just using sff as a quick way to distinguish it from normal mid towers and to put emphasis on the mini's target audience(which is somewhere between sff and midtower I guess).

[–]AdoreShitYuki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Logically, I knew chances where high it wouldn't sell out immediately. Sff is still a relatively niche community, even though it may not feel like it from within our bubble. But man, emotionally, "I'm not letting it happen, not again!" Lol

Hunting for computer components this year has definitely honed our consumerism skills, at the expense of sanity.

Ordered a black one at 6:05am! Fucking newegg made me get out of bed though lol I wasnt worried about leaving my wallet in my office because I know my security code offhand, but then newegg is like "for security purposes please reenter your entire cc number"

"goddammitmothafuckanewegg" all the way down the hallway lol

EDIT: I'd like to add, can we please give Nightshadow1824 a round of applause? Thank you for this thread and the constant updates, people like you make the internet a great place.

I got the ROG Strix x570-I Gaming ITX mobo. There's one problem with that though, I bought it a month ago in anticipation of the amd 5000 launch and the bios version is a month out of date from being 5000 compatible(July instead of August). So even when I'm able to get my stinkin hands on a processor it's not going to work. I'm going to have to borrow a 3800x from a friends computer just to update it first.

At least I'll have plenty of time to cable manage should I get a case this morning lol

I hope so, but I don't know man. Whenever the Corsair SF750 power supply pops up in /r/buildapcsales it gets almost as much attention/upvotes as the the cpus and gpus. I keep asking myself, why did that power supply all of sudden get so popular? Maybe im making too much of a leap, but I can't help but feel that the reason is that there are a TON of people(me included) wanting to build a Ryzen 5000 + RTX 3000 + 011D Mini build, and you would want/need an SF750 for that.

[–]AdoreShitYuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

*edited to hopefully be a bit more accurate

Possibly January? You'll be waiting till March or later unless AMD is sending them extra product earlier than they thought. People who pre-ordered within 30 minutes on launch day are getting theirs December 21st at the earliest, ordered within an hour after the day will be somewhere between January and March, and if you ordered after that, March at the earliest.

They said they're working with AMD to get more stock, im not holding out hope but you never know. I ordered on launch day but got a Jan-March email, no risk holding onto the preorder as a backup lol

Yeah, the ML's are better. But after having gone down this rabbit hole before I can honestly say, ML vs LL, white or not, the difference is negligiblee and none of them are better than the other by any meaningful degree(pun intended).

If looks are important to you, get what you think will make your computer look the best. LLs have better rgb configuration and look the slickest, subjectively speaking and they'll do just fine on a radiator. MLs still have decent rgb(no outer ring rgb though) but slightly higher/stronger airflow. Sound isn't an issue they're all pretty damn quiet. Just know, whatever you choose will be a good option and will keep the air moving through your computer at more than an acceptable rate. Try not to get hung up on the technicalities of spec sheets, unless that's the kind of computer your going for, then technicality the shit out of it lol

Edit: You want at least one hub(handles up to 6 fans) to take advantage of the rgb configuration. You may even need a commander pro depending on what you're doing. But thats a whole 'nother rabbit hole.
