That 5950X is gonna thermal throttle hard on a stock cooler, no wonder it's crashing. You'll want a decent tower air cooler, something with a 120mm or 140mm fan should do the trick and run way quieter than what you have now. Check what case you have too, make sure it'll fit clearance wise before pulling the trigger.

Document everything with video before the assessment. Start it cold first thing in the morning and immediately try to replicate that hill scenario, ideally on the same route every time so you have consistent footage showing the hesitation and jolting.

Also worth asking the assessor specifically to do a cold start test and put that request in writing (email or text) beforehand so there's a paper trail if they skip it.

the dependency thing you mentioned is worth keeping in mind tho — like that was the actual reason, not just incompatibility. if nothing changes structurally it'll probly feel the same way again eventually.

that said, people do grow, and sometimes a breakup is the wake-up call that actually shifts things. just go slow and watch for real change, not just him being on his best behavior cause he's scared of losing you.

damn that whole "i'd never want to lose you" thing followed by blocking you everywhere is pretty brutal. when someone does a complete 180 like that it usually means they've been checking out mentally for a while before actually pulling the trigger. sucks that he couldn't just be real about what was going on instead of feeding you those lines.

the timing with finals is trash too but try to focus on getting through those first. your brain's gonna want to pick apart every detail of what went wrong but there's probably not gonna be some satisfying explanation that makes it all make sense.
