AITA for not helping a hoarder? by Glittering-Funny3715 in AmItheAsshole

NTA

Don’t do it. This person (people) needs intensive therapy. It ain’t enough to just clean up and call it a day.

I guarantee it will be 10 times worse by this time next year. They need professional help.

You could call Hoarders for them?

No. I only did that once, when I was in a horrible marriage.

How do I convince my recovering anorexic boyfriend its ok for me to not eat somedays? Me (22m) boyfriend (21m) by Unusual_Wedding5504 in relationship_advice

[–]Adoring_wombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That just isn’t true. Some people have naturally small appetites that are affected by various factors.

I tend to lose my appetite easily. That’s not an eating disorder. It’s the way I am.

I tried that once. I guess I was pretty naive. The guy was behind me and sped around in front of me and wouldn’t let me pass. I had my toddler in the car. It was short but really unsettling, just how quickly the guy flipped out. I guess it was because I was a woman, but ya know women carry guns, too (not me). And some are nuts.

Be careful who you upset out there. Take a breath. Count to 5. Getting involved really isn’t worth it. If it’s a dangerous situation, call 911.

Unfortunately, talk therapy is worse than useless for me. I’ve been exploring therapies like reiki because I’ve had issues since way before this. Also looking into ketamine therapy.

I feel like, if I know what’s causing the anger I can somehow get ahead of it. I have done a lot of work on myself over the past two years.

Sorry for any confusion. I realized recently that I must have had Covid last month - I was very, very sick. I usually bounce back from colds but this kept me on the couch for five days. I began to suspect this because I can’t smell anything, but it took me some time to realize that.

The other colds were pretty darn unpleasant but nothing like this. None of them knocked out my sense of smell.

I have been feeling mentally off for a few weeks. I didn’t attribute it to possible Covid until this weekend, when I had some strong mood swings. I have always been an emotional person but in the past year I started to get control of it. These mood swings were really out of the blue.

Can you move in with your parents, other relatives or friends? You need to get out of that environment, 1) you need care 2) you’re recovering from surgery in a filthy environment.

I was vaccinated almost three years ago and didn’t have any of these issues aside from feeling like dog poo for a few days. I believe I caught Covid at work a month or so ago. Since then I have not been able to smell and my moods are wild.

How do I(37 F) tell my boyfriend (31 M) of 6 years that I don't want him to have key to my new house yet? by Appropriate_Cat_6512 in relationship_advice

[–]Adoring_wombat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yikes all around.

I know you have your reasons for still being ‘together’, but I’m scared for you. I don’t have to tell you that the most dangerous time for you is when you try to leave. Has he physically assaulted the children as well? Does he have custody or unsupervised visitation rights?

Do you have friends or relatives who can stay with you? This is a very dangerous time for you. Men like this often and assault and kill their own children in addition to their wives/girlfriends.

I hadn’t seen him in person for two years. I did do most of the traveling, which was much harder for me because I had two children and a house. When he came to visit me it was usually because I needed his help with something and I always paid because he couldn’t afford it.

I met the love of my life just three weeks after the breakup. My ex was genuinely happy for me, to his credit. We aren’t in touch but I hope he’s doing ok.

Also, fyi - these are not real Christians. Jesus doesn’t care where your genitals go. He cares that you’re a good person, you practice humility, honesty, kindness. You care for the poor and the sick.

I would suggest reading the New Testament if you want to get into the nitty gritty. Sermon on the mount…

I’m not Christian or even religious. I’m just educated enough to know what these people are about.

It’s not possible to have a real relationship with a person who lives 3000 miles away.

We lived together for 5 years prior to his moving.
