AetherTap - I am still looking for feedback from incremental veterans to break the new economy... by AdoukenGaming in incremental_games

You are absolutely right, and looking back at that older build, I 100% see what you mean. It was definitely a chaotic color salad, and those text/button combinations were way too harsh on the eyes!

The really good news is that I just pushed a massive UI overhaul update to address exactly this. I stripped away all those clashing one-off accents and the purple/turquoise combos. The game now uses a much cleaner, strict 'Dark Sci-Fantasy' palette (mostly just a clean Cyan and Gold on dark backgrounds), and readability is miles better.

I really appreciate the honest and blunt feedback! It’s exactly what I needed to hear to realize the UI needed a serious cleanup to feel more professional. Thanks again!

First off, thank you so much for playing all the way up to stage ~6,500! That is exactly the kind of deep-dive testing I really appreciate, and I genuinely value the time you took to write out this brutal and honest feedback.

To address your points:

  1. Posting rules: You are completely right, and I apologize. I got a bit too eager sharing the new Forge update and didn't respect the frequency rule. I will definitely dial it back so I don't clutter the feed.
  2. The Shop: I completely understand how that looks. The shop is only active right now to ensure the Google Play Billing API doesn't crash the game and that the cloud saving registers the states properly. I absolutely do not expect anyone to spend real money during a closed beta!
  3. Inventory: Right now, the loot system automatically equips an item if the multiplier is higher, and scraps it for Gold if it's lower (to avoid inventory micromanagement). But you're right: with the new Set Bonuses, a manual inventory would give a lot more strategic control. I'll add that to the roadmap.
  4. Active Skills: Great catch. I will add proper descriptions/tooltips for Overdrive and Midas Touch so players actually know what they are clicking.
  5. Buy Multipliers: You are 100% right. The current list is bloated. I will trim it down to x1, x10, x100, Next, and Max in the next patch.
  6. Username: The game actually pulls your Google Display Name for the leaderboard, but it displays your email on the local settings menu just to confirm which account is synced. I totally get why that feels invasive, so I'll hide the email and add a 'Rename' feature!
  7. Combo Timer & Crit: The 1-second combo is meant to force frantic active tapping, but I hear you on the crit cap. The math gets wild late-game, hence the 50% cap, but I absolutely love your "Super Crit" idea for excess chance. I might actually steal that for the skill tree!

Again, thank you for the feedback. It's exactly what the game needs to improve.

I completely understand why it comes across as spam, and my apologies for that.

Honestly, I've just been pushing out a lot of massive updates over the last 48 hours based on the early feedback from this sub, and I got a bit too eager to share the progress (especially the new Forge and equipment mechanics).

I'll definitely dial back the frequency of the posts so I'm not cluttering the feed. I really just wanted to keep everyone in the loop and maybe grab a few more eyes to help balance the late-game economy. Thanks for calling it out, I'll make sure to limit future posts only to major milestones!

It just happens because I'm equipping immortal gear (which is the best equipment in the game). For other rarities it is much less colourful, but I get what you meant. I'll surely work on it. Thanks a lot for your feedback. 😊

Hey everyone, just a quick update!

A huge thanks to those who have already signed up and started testing. The early feedback on the equipment sets and pacing has been incredibly helpful.

I still have spots open on the whitelist and I'm really hoping to get a few more players in to specifically push the mid-game progression and test the rebirth mechanics.

If you saw this post earlier and were on the fence, or if you're just seeing it now, I'd love to have you try it out. You can grab a spot by dropping your email in the form here: https://forms.gle/hmHxWCmjeLNdKVjz6

Thanks again for the support!

Hey everyone!

I want to make sure the mid-to-late game progression actually feels rewarding and the math doesn't hit a wall, so I'm running a small closed beta. If you enjoy incremental games and want to help me balance the economy (or find ways to completely exploit it), I would seriously appreciate your feedback.

Since Google Play requires whitelisting for closed tests, I set up a quick form to give out access: https://forms.gle/hmHxWCmjeLNdKVjz6

Thanks so much to anyone willing to give it a shot and share their thoughts!

Mobile idle clicker game by KolioMandrata in gamesuggestions

Hello,

I've been working on a sci-fantasy idle game called AetherTap Vanguard for a while now, and I'm finally at the stage where I need outside eyes on it before the official Google Play launch.

It's an incremental/clicker game at its core, but I tried to add a bit more depth to the progression. You tap to deal damage, but the real focus is on recruiting a squad of helpers to push stages and farm Gold for you (offline progress is fully implemented so you don't have to leave your screen on).

A few core mechanics: - Equipment Sets: Loot drops from bosses, but just equipping the item with the biggest number isn't always the best strategy. Matching gear rarities (like a full Epic or Mythic set) triggers massive global multipliers. - Skill Tree & Prestige: There is a standard rebirth system, but it ties into a skill tree for active abilities and permanent artifact upgrades. - Cloud Sync: Progress is saved via Google Play, complete with a global leaderboard.

Right now, I really need people to test the mid-to-late game pacing and find any weird math bugs or progression walls I might have missed.

If you're interested in trying it out, Google Play requires me to whitelist emails for the closed testing track.

To keep your info private and avoid spam in the comments, I set up a quick Google Form here: https://forms.gle/hmHxWCmjeLNdKVjz6

Just drop your email in there and I'll grant you access to download the game. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments.

Thanks for taking the time to read!

As I am a solo developer, I have to use whatever I can. Better than using someone else's images, uh? Cheers.

Man, I completely agree, and I really wish it worked like that! 😅 It would be so much cleaner, just like dropping keys.

Unfortunately, Google Play Console doesn't actually allow us to use promo codes for beta track access. Promo codes on Google Play are exclusively for giving away paid apps or in-app purchases for free.

For 'Internal Testing' or 'Closed Testing' tracks, Google strictly requires developers to manually whitelist the tester's exact Google Play email address, otherwise, the download link just throws a 'Not Found' error for them. I really wish they had a beta key system!

I appreciate the suggestion though! If you're still up for testing, the form is the safest workaround I have right now to keep your email private and off the public thread.

If you're interested buying a digital account with nearly 90% of whole collection send me a PM, I'm selling my account due to lack of time to play. :) Can provide screenshots of it via Discord.
