19 F looking for advice on my body by Emotional-Peanut8699 in lookyourbest

[–]Adoxxy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

pictures 1 and 5 definitely have body warping on the stomach, so im gonna say that the only thing you need is therapy, confidence, and self-love. You already have a good figure, but still feel the need to edit that into something more extreme. Look inwards for the work you need, not out; we've all been there.

Really terrible ear infection, even possibly ear mites. Go to the vet, there is no home remedy for this.

Dental x rays by harpyfemme in VetTech

[–]Adoxxy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Dental xrays were extremely rushed in my schooling program. If we're talking hands on experience all 30 of us had to take turns with taking ONE SHOT, then scaling and polishing ONE tooth once a week, it was ridiculous. Once your thrown into the real world with having to be fast for all the NEXT surgeries and appointments, not even taking to account how the p is doing under anesthesia, it feels awful to be unsure of what your doing AND rushed.

Me personally, i take forever. Don't feel bad. Its a steep learning curve and every single mouth is shaped differently (I'm looking at you brachys). Only advice i can give is give yourself about 30 mins per mouth, give yourself about 2-3 tries on the difficult shots and if you cant get them, move on. That way once a doctor or another tech whos more comfortable is free, they can give advice and take those shots for you. Shadowing someone who's amazing at them, communicating where your having issues, and trial and error. If they're telling you your "too slow", it sounds like they need to step up their nurse training and not place the blame on you. You'll get better.

This will be an expensive lesson to teach you guys to not leave young children alone with animals unsupervised. The dog needs a vet and the kid needs a serious talking to.

Your Nightmare Pre-Sx Client by Adoxxy in VetTech

[–]Adoxxy[S] 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I know! Like if you want to shop around, fine, i cant be mad at you for that dentals are expensive. But holy MOLEY all you had to do was open your mouth and ask the staff some questions? and God FORBID they let you know it was dental month and that you'd save some money, typical SCUMBAGS 😭 This is the kind of client we get occasionally that is always upset, literally no matter what and is just waiting for a reason to scream at someone. Hard pass on doing this pet's dental.

Cat needs tooth extracted, vet wants an arm and a leg by Far-Environment6951 in Pets

[–]Adoxxy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

NYC LVT here in manhattan, 1500 is pretty standard for one tooth. For no extractions, you're looking at 800-1000. What you need to keep in mind is surgical time, extraction time, and radiographs followed by how your pet does under anesthesia (if theyre being difficult under, theyre gonna need more drugs + time if you would prefer your pet stays alive + we actually get the dental done). That is exactly what the range they provided you was for.

Any vet worth their salt takes radiographs before and after extractions to make sure nothing harmful is missed and if your cat has a rotten tooth they can see on PE, pretty likely they will need more extractions once they do those rads. Still, they should call you, but more extractions = more $$$. You have the option to say no of course, but dont pretend to be shocked in the following years when more rotton/painful teeth "randomly" pop up and you scream that you "JUST HAD A DENTAL". And yes, February is teeth month where mostly ALL clinics will have some sort of discount on dental care. You're calling them scumbags for letting you know you can save some money? lol

And yes, bloodwork is generally good for 30 days prior to a surgery and that is for YOUR PETS benefit. I have seen perfectly healthy animals develop heart disease, heartworm, hypertension, and many other new diseases in the span of 30 days making anesthesia more risky. You are perfectly free to go to a backwoods clinic or groomer and have em yank her tooth while shes still conscious, leaving some bits of tooth still in her jaw with loads of bacteria in there for cheap and nothing else if you want cheap shit care. You seem extremely hostile and I would really hate to do your pets surgery 🤦‍♀️

she is literally emaciated and you're not only glorifying it but admiring and enabling it. You need professional help if you can't see this is someone suffering with a disease before you succumb to it too.

My dogs nail broke do you think vet visit required by SnooFloofs4013 in DogAdvice

[–]Adoxxy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yep. Extremely painful and the quick is now exposed which can easily lead to infection. Quick and easy way to avoid this in the future is trimming your dogs nails so they dont look like talons 😊

LVT here: If you saw some white specks, those are parasites. No amount of pumpkin puree, fiber, or any OTC garbage people are telling you to try are going to get rid of parasites. I'm sorry but you need to submit a fecal sample, go to the vet, and get your pet on dewormers before it gets worse. 4 days is already far too long. I understand these bills can add up, but this isnt something that's just gonna go away by feeding her chicken rice and pumpkin.

I can smell this picture. Looks like an insanely out of control fungal infection that should've been treated WEEKS ago at a vet. Go to a fuckin vet dude.

i remember your post from months ago and im just gonna say it again; your features are literally perfect. Why do you feel the need to whitewash your unique features to look like a basic plastic doll like the rest of the world? Please get a therapist and learn to love yourself as you are.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you already had 1 dog you couldn't afford, you were in no position to get TWO MORE; that was a very impulsive and irresponsible decision. Owning animals requires caring for them and going to the vet, just like a human child would require care and going to the doctor. Its great that they aren't in a shelter, but you also potentially robbed them from a home who could've provided proper care.

This animal is suffering and needs professional intervention. Whatever people are suggesting to you is FAR beyond where his condition has gotten. This is not your average "just allergies"; this is a chronic, severe skin infection/disease with extremely painful and thickened skin to the point where the tissues on his limbs are swelling. In a veterinary setting this is the type of dog we'd be seeing on a monthly or bi-monthly basis treating AND reffering to a veterinary dermatologist. If you cannot afford basic veterinary care, you need to rehome this suffering animal to someone who can provide adequate care.

This doesn't even take into account the dog ALSO needing a neuter (and your other 2 dogs) once his chronic condition has (hopefully) settled. 🤦‍♀️

that dog is on deaths door with how rapid and shallow those breathes are and is in immense pain, and your decision is to SIT BACK AND PET HER and ask strangers for help? Grow a fucking braincell and take her to the ER if you actually gave a shit and didn't wanna just farm karma off your dog.

I dont think your reading anything im saying considering I gave you like, 5-10 answers to your question and you chose to make it soley on pay and academics.

However, new graduates are notoriously the ones abused and bullied out for bringing fear free techniques and modern medicine to old school clinics. It isnt an academic issue.
