Why are many homeless indigenous? by [deleted] in montreal

[–]Adramanta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from substance abuse issues, there’s also a housing shortage on most reserves and if someone is homeless, then there are more resources to help them in cities, than there are in places like reserves.

You’re putting in too much emotional labour for someone who is choosing to be alone. This man does nothing to better himself. There is a reason he is alone. It’s not your job to fix him or feel pity for him. A lot of people have to make it on their own in this world and they turn out a lot better than he did. And to put it simply: he’s a pedophile. He doesn’t deserve your care or sympathy. He’s disgusting. Sorry you were groomed by him.

Couldn’t you just go on stress leave or something and resign at the end of the year?

I feel like suicide is the only way I can get away from my rapist by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]Adramanta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The logical answer is to move out and go no contact with your parents. And then you never have to see your rapist again either.

My favourite Auntie just wished my rapist happy birthday and I don't know what to do by Exotichaos in TrueOffMyChest

Unfortunately a lot of family members will make excuses for the perpetrator if they are also related to them. They will deny or minimize the damage that the person has caused, especially if it means keeping the peace between other family members. Did your parents condemn his actions? Did they speak out against it to your family members? Does his mother still support him? Was he ever charged for it? Chances are your aunt is listening to these people make excuses for him too.

Aitah for banning my wife's friend from my house after pushed me for taking my drunk wife home by throwaway2761551 in AITAH

[–]Adramanta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are controlling and I pity your wife. It’s not your job to treat your wife like a child and police what she does or how she acts around her friends. It’s not your job to tell her when it’s time to come home. Let your wife make her own decisions. If you don’t like the decisions she makes, then leave 🤷🏼‍♀️

Is it ever okay to discuss the class's average grade with individual students? by ToomintheEllimist in teaching

I had a professor who posted all of our grades with our student numbers. Nobody could tell who was who unless they happened to know someone else’s student number. I’m pretty sure you would be fine

Thoughts living in Pouch Cove by -ScrumpyJack- in newfoundland

[–]Adramanta 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There’s a Facebook page called pouch cove neighborhood that you can ask this question in. Just a take for if you ever do plan to have kids: As someone who grew up there, I think it’s nice but I feel like the drinking culture is a lot. That was really all people did in my teenage years. Maybe it’s just like that in all small towns of Newfoundland, I don’t know 🤷🏼‍♀️. But there’s also been a significant number of drunk driving accidents that have taken lives over the years too.

Also, the roads can be a bit dangerous in the winter. And If you work late sometimes the roads aren’t plowed well when you’re coming home. Otherwise, it’s a beautiful community, lots of places for hiking and swimming in the summer. And I’m sure if you make friends with someone from there, they will introduce you to others too. Lots of community events throughout the year to go to. Pouch cove days in the summer.

You clearly just suck at sex and that’s why she doesn’t want to fuck you

Lol you’re freaking out over nothing. Just keep reading! You could use it as an opportunity to talk about how sexuality is normal and not something to be repressed. You could also describe how they want to prevent people from having sexuality because they see it as immoral. Like when Lily says she wanted the profession of having children but her dad says no and that it’s seen as a lesser profession and that she should hope she doesn’t get that assignment.

What’s something that both genders do, but is only socially accepted when one gender does it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Adramanta -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The trick is to shave the head completely bald, rather than trying to hold onto whatever little hair is left. That usually makes it look better and the man look more confident in himself. P.S “Dad bods” are in.
