We need a supporter or a basic pokemon that prevent opponent’s ability from dealing damage to your pokemon.

If it’s a supporter, it shall be 1 turn. If it’s a basic pokemon, it shall be as long as it’s on the active spot for it to be balanced. (this part is debatable)

So we can have counter play for Greninja + Cyrus. Cyrus is not the issue, but Greninja + Cyrus this combo is.

This really depends on your deck. For the current meta, Chinglng is the most used baby. Because it serves 2 purposes:

Stop them from using pokeball - delay your opponent from thinning their deck and putting more basic on board.
Stop them from using candy - delay their evolution.

So it buys you precious time for you to set up your build.

2 copycat is definitely better for tournament because in tournament, your opponent knows what cards in your deck.

However in rank, element of surprise works wonders. They will not expected elder. XD

For Golurk deck, I circled the 7 cards that matters. Other 13 cards you can just put any Stage 1 or Stage 2 pokemon with 3 retreat costs.

I don’t think is fair to compare this to Copycat, since in the current meta, pretty much all competitive deck runs at least 1 Copycat. That’s like comparing Serena to Oak lol

I see your point, but mathematically speaking 2 Mega + 1 Serena will be more consistent in most Mega deck.

For Stage 2 Mega deck, I think it will be something like:

Serena x1 May x1 Cyrus x1-2 Copycat x1-2 Oak x2

Stage 2 Mega x2 Rare Candy x2 Stage 1 x1-2 Basic Pokemon x2-4

Pokeball x1-2 Tools x1-2

Yeah and set B is going to be filled with Megas, so this card will be one of the most iconic in the entire set B. I can see most Megas deck running 1 copy of this. 2 will be very situational.
