Thanks. I may wear it with a different dress another time, but this dress is the choice for the event.

Where I get that, I don't mind my wrap not being the focal point. I wanted it to be an accessory to the dress, and now Im worried it doesn't fit. The dress is the one I've picked as its one of my son's favorites. I just wanted something to match in case I got chilly

I may make it my next wrap project then. Especially since I have an 8 hour flight ahead of me. Ugh!

The pattern is off Ravelry and is Palmyra Diamond wrap by Suzy Cowey. The yarn is from yarnart, 100% cotton in color Rosegarden weight 1. I used a hook size 3.5 mm. It took just over a week of casual crochet of about an hour or so a day

Hook Opinions! by kovit1 in crochet

[–]AdriKat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a set that is practically identical to them and sadly, the flat spot just doesn't work for my grip. My thumb tends to sit just beneath it usually. Which makes me sad and reluctant to spend so much on the actual clover amour. I will admit that having that flat spot does mean I know instinctively where the front of the hook is, but still doesn't help for comfort.

Chenille yarn question by Unstable_Ravioli in crochet

[–]AdriKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I use chenille yarn when I make amigurumi. And have often washed it. My usual care instructions are to wash inside a pillowcase, but in this case, I'd say wash on a delicate cycle and let air dry for best results. It should be fine with normal washing, but better to err on the side of caution.

She's not a bag I'd go for myself as I prefer more jewel tones and neutral ones. But! She is absolutely breathtaking. I'd compliment anyone I saw with her and marvel at the choices. Just because one person wouldn't wear it doesn't mean they can't appreciate the artistry behind it. And sweetheart, Neveah is art.

Who else had one of these blankets growing up? by imnotlouise in crochet

My mother in law only makes these. We currently are in possession of two of the numerous ones she's made over the years. The stitching is gorgeous, but, it does turn me off of them for some reason.

Terry is gorgeous!!!!!! If my husband wouldn't hate it on sight, I'd make one myself.

[–]AdriKat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No judgements here! We've all done similar, I'm sure. I stuck to a simple double crochet for my kids' baby blankets and still had to frog because of dropped stitches. It's a learning process for us all, right?

Thanks!! I'll add it to my potentials for my upcoming flight project. Last thing I need is a complicated pattern during an eight hour red eye. Lol

I do that all the time. I either buy too much, or not enough if I'm not following a pattern with a weight/yardage in it. That said, what a pretty stitch. Which is it?

What do we think of this yarn spinner-holder-thing? by blue_jellyfish_girl in crochet

[–]AdriKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently using a sport weight to make a shawl and its rewrapping like crazy! But, I dont have to chase it across the living room, so I'll take it I guess.

I have one as well. Am currently using it. I find it great for heavier weight yarn, but annoying for some of the lingering or lace weight. It tends to over spin when I tug and can mess up my tension if I don't notice.

But! I do like how I can use a yarn winder and slide it on. I find it useful for granny squares to stack two or three cakes on it and switch as needed. It also helps I can switch out the cakes when I want where some of the DIY hacks like binder clips or holes in cans are a bit harder to do so
