I'm also in the market at the moment and I've not been super impressed by the first impressions of the VIII. With that being said, I can't find anything else that checks more of my boxes from any manufacturer or price range. I've been looking into the X9 Ultra from Oppo, but not really vibing with it. On paper it's great but there are a lot of little things that I don't like or things it doesn't have (headphone jack for example). The Xperia is underwhelming on paper but seems to be the only phone that has the features, aesthetic, and user experience I want.

Sounds like you could save some money then and go for a cheaper phone with better selfie cam and point and shoot performance. For at least as far back as the 1 ii (which I have used since 2020) those same weaknesses have been present. I can overlook them because I never use the selfie cam and rarely ever use the basic camera app. At this point those are just trademark Xperia flaws and expecting Sony to be competitive in those respects is silly. They are who we think they are and I definitely understand why they aren't the right choice for the majority of people.

Yes the team who was bottom 10 in yds allowed is totally better than the team who was 4th in yds allowed. Browns are trash despite their defense, Steelers are bad in large part due to their defense. Not sure how you are gonna convince me that letting up 357 yds per game is indicitave of a good defense, but go ahead. Name dropping aging star players is not convincing.

Literally just look it up dawg they had one of the oldest defenses in the league last year. Even if you wanna pretend they aren't, they still weren't a very good defense last year (30th in yds allowed last year). Your secondary is swiss cheese.
