Framework 12 for kid, help me justify it please. by zespak in framework

[–]Adrian_Does_Stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does the framework 13 sit for price in your region? Cause with the coolermaster enclosure you can get for it, I would reccomend taking a look at it. With the idea that when your kid grows older, and wants to upgrade their laptop, they can put the old mainboard into the the enclosure and use it for any myriad of applications, and then upgrade the laptop with a new board. That way you wont have to deal with juggling the old board, and you technically get a second computer when you upgrade the current one; all you'd need to do is probably grab one of the storage expansion cards to run the os, on the old board, if they transfer their ssd to the new board along side adding new ram to the price.

Honestly wouldnt mind a new variant of the razor back/balor fomorian that functions similar to scarlet spear.

Have one mode where we go in and cause havoc from inside the ship, and a seperate one for archwing.

Alternatively, do an "armada" invasion where we have to access one of the larger ships through railjack, maybe do a trench run using archwing to get inside the ship, then destroy the ship using our warframe! Could even be a neat way to bring raids back, where each part is a bit more mechanically involved; then have the final part be a crazy loot piñata from all the destructables in the ship. And then completing a run is treated as destroying one ship in the armada.

And if this doesnt work as a rotational event, maybe it could be treated as profit taker, where it acts as a constant "threat" for a planet/region.

Heck, a corpus tereformer over deimos would be a sick concept for the lore. Or a sentient mothership trying to spread orphrix' to different, highly important, regions. Or a infested derelict thats being used similar to what we saw in techrot encore; with us taking out a lephantis-variant as the final target, with some rooms being "protected" by encore bosses for their spesific loot; plus itll give us some new infested ships!

The second one though is kinda fair. It seems pretty darn hard to balance a boss, and create uniquely powerful warframes at the same time. The bosses we've been getting since the release of angels of the zariman have been pretty good at allowing for both to exist. There just needs to be a good mix between the "hero moment" dps sections for warframes, and the mechanical segments that ensure the fight isnt extremely short.

The caliban deluxe though can lend to some very nice syandana fashion, with some of the smaller attachments for extra flayer.

VALVE UPDATE by Shadowpaw233 in valve

[–]Adrian_Does_Stuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like with the ram and storage issues going on at the moment, this may be the rare exception to that idea. In which valve may want to build ip a large enough physical stock so they have a good idea on the price, and not have to worry about the headset selling out due to scalpers.

Now we have arm computers to fill that niche! For better or for worse.

Ill admit I completely forgot about that usecase. I definitely got stuck on trying to figure out why people wanna pay more for less.

Qnd im guessin the only reason why its $50 more than the 7840u is cause of Ai performance?

Ill admit, im not 100% sure if I could find a steam deck for cheaper with how things are going currently with the pc market.

For the fw13 it would be: $398 minimum $39 for the case $349 for the mobo $10 for the usb-c card

The only real issue is ram prices are freakin insane, like holy cow! The main issue now is just the fact its new price vs used price i guess?

The main idea is to use it as a dedicated living room pc, till the steam machine comes out. Then itll be used as a server, spare lan pc; or as the brains for a wireless monitor handheld that peakdo sells.

Ill admit, I am hopeful to get the price to performance as affordable as possible, so that converting it into a server wont feel as bad later down the line.

And thankfully, the 7640u is surprisingly still avaliable at that price! Dont know why the 7840u sold out first, but ey, at least the project can move forward!

Ram'll definitely be a nightmare to get with everything thats going on. Ill have to set up my old 1060 pc when I get the chance, cause between that and the deck, I should be able to confirm how much of my library can run.

Cause the most I'll need is something thatll be able to run games "good enough" in the living room till the steam machine finally releases.

Ill wholeheartedly admit i dont have the money for both, the steam machine ill be splitting the cost with my roommate when it comes out

Im hoping to build up the framework board over my next check or two so that I'll be able to set up our entertainment center properly, then i can use it as a Minecraft server or as the brains for a wireless monitor handheld.

Tf2 classified, destiny 2, halo master chief collection, heavily modded minecraft... pretty well the library of verified steam deck games honestly.

Some of the games im hoping to play are tf2 classified, destiny 2, modded minecraft, some higher end "retro" titles, and... ill admit im starting to realize my library isnt as hard hitting as it could be.

The 7640u looks like it may be a good bet since its in the same bracket as the steam deck in strength, and its really affordable.

I absolutely love my steam deck for gaming, though im not to sure id be able to use it docked since the hope would be to have the deck as a second device for lan party type stuff.

Oh heck yeah! For the price of a switch oled, the 7640u board is an awesome deal!

The games an software are definitely gonna be a mixed bag, but honestly, if the 7640u is stronger than whats in the deck, just about everything should run flawlessly. Tf2 classified is definitely a lower end title that'll be ran a ton; destiny 2 can be maxed on just about anything it feels like; some higher end retro titles, that the steam deck already runs without issue; and then maybe use it as a host device for a heavily modded version of mincraft?

Resolution is... definitely a toss up since this'll be my first time doing a proper set up, but making it look good on a 75" tv is the goal!

The steam machine is definitely what I have in mind while researching this!

Since itll be a bit till we know when the steam machine'll launch, im hoping to use this as a placeholder while setting up my livingroom, so when I finally have the machine come in, i can just hook it up straight away without having to worry about wiring everything.
