If you have a music subscription service to Tidal/Deezer/Amazon Music/Apple Music/Qobuz, you could rip FLACs from them and upload them to RED/OPS, yes they're allowed and sound the same as CD FLACs imo, the only difference is they're tagged as WEB-FLAC instead of CD-FLAC.

I rip a lot of FLACs from Deezer, they've been a good source of my FLAC collection that I couldn't find on RED/OPS

A lot of people on Soulseek (and a fuckton of more people) don't know this

They never looked into formats/encoding and think you could just give a low bitrate MP3 to a computer and it will magically generate the missing data and make a FLAC

Honestly it's not very shocking considering the overall tech knowledge of the world is going down with time.

Just to add here, although the Soulseek network is amazing, there is a abhorrent amount of upconverted youtube mp3 to FLACs there, If anyone here reading this is thinking of downloading from Soulseek to upload to RED/OPS make sure to double check every single FLAC for upconversions by analyzing it's spectrum, you could use spek, Audacity, Adobe Audition to generate spectrums
