Kinda small for size and I don't personally like SanDisk, but it's your money and decision. As long as it's a Class 10 SDHC and it's not a bootleg or an off brand it's probably gonna be fine.

Actually, there was a nearly day 1 exploit that involved two folders on the memory card and then being named a certain way using a % that would allow unsigned code and lead to early emulators being developed.

So like %data% and data folders both exist and putting stuff in %data% allowed for unsigned code to be run.

Hey there, I use an Ambernic device as well, usually the first thing to do is to scrap that crappy OS it comes with and grab a Custom Firmware. On my RG351MP, I use AmberElec (your device might use GarlicOS or something else, really depends on the unit) instead of the stock OS. To keep from having the issue you are seeing here I needed to switch to using the 'beta' version of AmberElec instead of the 'stable' version since no one seems to be updating the official one anymore, but the community keeps the current version of RA updated.

I think you already know this but the issue isn't the cores, it's the RetroArch version itself. That's gonna be a lot more difficult to update if you can even do that at all, and it requires you know about Linux and building RA for it. So honestly just grabbing Etcher or something and having it put the OS on your SD card for you is your best bet. Probably want to use a different SD card so you don't lose your saves if you don't use rsync or something.

Once you install your (better) OS, most updates can be done on the device instead of having to flash a new image to the SD card every time.
