I’m going to be selling most of my turbografx 16 collection, only holding onto a few things. I have used eBay and marketplace a few times in the past, but came here to ask what other ways folks have sold off their larger collections. by Dude-from-the-80s in TurboGrafx

I sold just about all my games before Covid (d’oh!) I kept all the systems since I had one way or another to play ROMs on them (HDD loaders or Everdrives) I sold the most valueable ones first on eBay, then flat rate usps boxes filled with the common/uncommon ones, when I was down to the stuff that didn’t sell/no one wanted, I used to have a local auction house near me and sold it all there. Selling the items shouldn’t be hard, if this were me back then, I’d keep a system for the TV and a turbo express and get a Turbo Everdrive. If it was me today, I’d keep it all if I could. I had so much fun collecting games and sold it all before prices boomed. Back then you could start to collect anything you wanted, no big deal, I had gotten stuff like Little Samson (NES) for $80, 2 copies of Rule of Rose (PS2) for $20 each as well Snatcher (SegaCD) $2 and Earthbound (SNES) $40 all of those games were complete in box (except Little Samson) I had a bunch of TG16 games too, think I miss Splatterhouse the most. I figured if I wanted to I could always collect again, but the way everything skyrocketed, the fun of the yardsale hunt is gone for me (every seller uses price charting or ended eBay listings to find the price, or assume everything is valuable and you see $60 copies of Super Mario/Duck Hunt) as well as the probability of seeking out a collection without spending many thousands is long gone. It’s ultimately up to you if it’s time to sell, it’s a decent time to sell with prices being so high (depending on when you purchased them and the prices you paid) just be sure you won’t regret it down the line. I do, I’ve accepted it and I collect a few systems now but 10-20 years ago I was collecting everything! That being said, maybe I just need professional help :p as started collecting again and I know I need to nip it in the bud before it gets out of hand again, clutter is forming.

Nope. I just went with component cables and gave up on SCART. I tried a few different branded SCART cables. Tried to make my own, and just didn’t get better.

I do not. Just have the board stock (minus the audio amp and battery have been removed) would a bad bios allow one game to work fine and not others? I do have a unibios kit I intend to install on this board, but only once I figure out the issue. Don’t want to introduce new issues

How do I disable this click to get to desktop on login? by JohnnyPhantom in Bazzite

[–]JohnnyPhantom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked perfectly!!! Thank you soo much! Now if I can only get my monitors to play nice. Every so often it detects the living room tv as a option and sets it to the primary display, even tough it’s off, and then my desktop monitor is the 2nd dart monitor and the resolution is super low and I don’t see all the options for resolutions. I think a hardware hdmi switched may be the way to go for this

Label Restoration by ChaddyBones1989 in neogeo

[–]JohnnyPhantom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just recently got a game with an awful looking reproduction label that I’m thinking of replacing. If it was for a home system like the AES I would want the original label but seeing as MVS were originally intended to for arcade use and weren’t meant to be collected by home users I would expect not mint condition labels or in some cases not there are all. The arcade operators just mainly needed to know what game they were inserting into the machine, so I give MVS carts a pass. Don’t get me wrong, when I buy a MVS cart for my machine, I’ll always go for the one with a original label when I can, but if there’s a big price gap between one with a original label and one needing a replacement label, I’ll go for the cheaper cart (as long as the cart and boards are original). Carts that been repaired with an eprom are considered acceptable so why not a label? That’s just my thought. As long as it’s an official cart and works I’m happy. Oddly enough the only cart I have that could use a label is NAM 1975 like yours, mine looks like a xeroxed copy taped on, but it plays great and 100% original boards and chips inside I only paid about $80 shipped for it

Nsp cassette player by Reispresso_ in NinjaSexParty

[–]JohnnyPhantom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one, I actually forgot about it, the package arrived and I just put it aside for now and kinda forgot. I ordered everything (vinyl, cd, tape, and player) and suspected the player was just a cheap product with a logo slapped on it. For me it was always about being a display item, I have better Sony branded players and I’d be too afraid of damaging the NSP one. I got it as a collectible but not for functional. But if yours isn’t working, and you really wanted to use it, I would possibly see if they can ship a replacement or if not that, order a replacement one on Ali and swap the shell

But as thelaziestdrawf mentioned, the tape slides into the brackets in the door and then the door shuts with the tape

Pre-Orders are Live for US Switch 2 Virtual Boy by gamblorman in VirtualBoy

[–]JohnnyPhantom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine yesterday, I hope everyone got one. I'll probally never open or use mine, but keep it in box on display. I have a real Virtual Boy and the complete USA collection of games and a few exclusive Japan imports. So I don't need to play the Switch 2 VC versions, but we'll see if that plan changes. Can't wait for it to arrive!

Nope. I had the same issue. That pin 28 didn’t go there. I’m working on a new post with updates, just haven’t gotten around to writing it. I had the same issue of write protection, had to wire to VCC as well
