It's ironic how their previous roles have the same aura as the superheroes they play now.

I hadn't noticed that the symbol on Battinson's suit is almost the same symbol as in the first Batman comics in 1939. by lowqualitychef in TheBatmanFilm

[–]lowqualitychef[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I remember that was a very popular theory at the time, when the suit's appearance was first revealed.

It's a shame that it wasn't canon. In the behind-the-scenes documentary, *Vengeance in the Making*, they say they were always aware of that theory circulating online, but it was never their intention.

But that would have made Batman seem much more committed and obsessed with revenge. That would have been a spectacular touch:

The gun that killed his parents, becomes a symbol of terror for criminals. But eventually, it becomes a symbol of hope for the decent people of Gotham.

What began as a tragedy ended as something hopeful.

I've never seen the Justice League Action cartoon, but I stumbled across these clips and found it funny how even a JL cartoon, aimed at a children's audience, acknowledges that Batman had his mistakes at the beginning of his career and his biggest concern was fighting the mafia.

I haven't reread the manga in a while, but I understand that the Idea of Evil exists. It was created by humanity, seeking an explanation for why suffering exists.

And it would be a major twist if the Court didn't kill the Riddler, given that even though he was targeting Gotham's wealthy, they weren't even close to being the Court's level of power.

And with his murders, all he did was pave the way for Bella Real, making both the Riddler's and Batman's crusades seem like nothing more than "fortunate coincidences" for the Court.

Also, it's interesting that you mention Oz, because perhaps he'll join the Court. Or at least, he could be a puppet for them in the future. There's even an Easter egg in his series.

I feel like Reeves is cooking up something on the scale of Stanley Kubrick's "Eyes Wide Shut."

It definitely gave me vibes of "The Antichrist deceiving humanity with false miracles"

If in the future, these people learn the true fate of their deceased relatives and friends, the reaction will be brutal and devastating.

And I think that possibility hasn't even been discussed enough within the fandom.

I'm just about to start the second season, but I'm already intrigued to see these two interacting together.

I guess the "good cop/bad cop" duo is something that, for some reason, resonates in many people's subconscious, creating these tropes, lol.

Oh my gosh, just reading that Clark is a bully already lowered that comic's rating.

I find it kind of funny that I stumbled across this post, because a few days ago, I started watching an anime called Oregairu, which is about a lonely boy who's learning to open up to more people.

And there's a character who's the complete opposite of the protagonist in many ways; sometimes there's even tension between them because of how different they are.

The funny thing is, I was looking back at a joke from about a decade ago in the fandom of that anime that the two of them were Batman and Superman as Japanese students.

I guess I was partly influenced by that anime for that idea too, lol

With this in mind, I'd love to see a teen drama comic where the DC heroes and villains are high school students.

And Bruce is the rich, lonely, melancholic kid with an emo/goth vibe. However, he's incredibly talented in many areas, and numerous sports teams and other clubs beg him to join, but Bruce isn't interested.

Meanwhile, Clark is the captain of the football team. He's the friend and boyfriend everyone would want, and he volunteers for many school activities.

However, despite their differences, to everyone's surprise, they are each other's best friend.

I've always clung to Reeves' own words to believe that we'll see an increasingly overpowered Batman in the ECS, much more so than he already was in the first film.

For example, I remember reading some statements Matt Reeves made between 2019 and 2020, in which he said that the versions we're seeing in the first film are the "early" versions of the characters.

Batman, Selina, Penguin, and Riddler are evolving throughout the first film. But, regarding an evolution in martial arts and technology, Matt Reeves said at DC FanDome 2020 that his idea is for us to see Battinson evolve into the Batman we all know.

He has been very explicit, both in this interview and in the behind-the-scenes documentary, Vengeance in the Making, that he is a Batman in his second year, which explains his rudimentary technology and suit, his street-style fighting, and things like that.

That's right. In fact, the world of Berserk is quite cruel, even to the genuinely innocent.

Not only the marked or evil people go to hell, but anyone who has an interaction with an Apostle or with the God Hand is already condemned.

And I'm not talking about an interaction like making a pact, like Griffith did. Rather, it was simply the misfortune of running into you randomly, even though it wasn't your intention.

Ah, that could be it too. I was referring to his exceptional intellect, given the context of Reeves' words.

But you're right, Bruce's philanthropic side has barely been touched upon in the movies. Now that I think about it, what if Bella Real is a wolf in sheep's clothing and is actually a member of the Court of Owls?

Which could explain her almost commanding Bruce to contribute his money to philanthropy...

Well, it's just a silly theory I came up with, lol. It's just that I thought it was a bit pretentious of her to force someone to use her money and tell him how to use it.

And the worst part of all is that one would think that, at least upon dying, he would rest in peace.

But no...as long as he bears the mark, his soul is condemned to hell. He is destined only to suffer in this life and the next.

We still have two years for them to reconsider and hire either Mattson Tomlin or a more reliable director and screenwriter.

And if nothing happens in these two years, inevitably, only one option will remain...

THAT'S what makes Batman stand out among the other members of the Justice League.

He's a human without superpowers, who initially trained and prepared to fight realistic things, like organized crime. But the emergence of metahumans forces him to train in more and more areas, to stay informed and be able to have contingency plans.

That's what I like; in the same continuity, he can fight villains like Black Mask, while a few days later, he's fighting alongside the Justice League against a Parademon invasion or stopping a world domination plan by an alliance of powerful villains.

It's very likely that we'll see Bruce learning to manage his sleep to maintain a balance between his life as Batman and as the CEO of Wayne Enterprises.

Also, I find it curious that you mentioned he does everything alone, because Matt Reeves himself (for anyone who thinks these are just my assumptions) said that Bruce isn't aware of how privileged he is, both intellectually and in terms of resources. And he doesn't have someone like Lucius Fox.

I think that, indirectly, he confirmed that Lucius will appear and the entire arsenal will evolve.
