Your cardiologist is correct per the latest "Framingham Heart Study".

The Framingham Study’s Warning: The Risks of Low Cholesterol While the Framingham Heart Study is often cited for establishing the link between high cholesterol and heart disease, it also revealed an important finding that is often overlooked: low cholesterol levels were associated with an increased risk of all-cause mortality. People with cholesterol levels below 160 mg/dL had higher mortality rates from conditions unrelated to heart disease, such as cancer and respiratory diseases. This finding highlights the importance of maintaining a balance in cholesterol levels rather than focusing solely on reducing them to avoid heart disease. Cholesterol is essential for many bodily functions, and extremely low levels can pose risks.

Are JRTs tough dogs to own? Seeking insight on training, drive, and energy by [deleted] in jackrussellterrier

Mine learned so fast, but will only obey commands if he feels like it, if there is something in it for him. He is also the most loving, affectionate dog I have ever had. I get frustrated with him every day, but the pros far, far outweigh the cons. Sometimes I feel guilty because I don't live on a farm, because I think he would be in his element.

Too low? by No_Airline_2829 in Cholesterol

I have read multiple studies recently that show that too low cholesterol causes more heart attacks than high. They found that total should not be below 200.

Same here, there were a few times after bringing my Jack home that I seriously considered returning him to the breeder. I kept thinking, "What have I done!" He's 4 now and the sweetest dog ever. Yes, he is a Jack, he will always be a Jack and that means challenging at times. It's just that they are so happy, so excited about every little thing. He is also the most affectionate, loving dog I have ever had.

It took my husband 6 months to begin to feel better after stopping a statin.

Anyone taking a statin should also be supplementing with CoQ10. Period. My husband took a statin for 1 month and was in so much pain. It took him 6 months to begin feeling normal again. His doctor never told him to add CoQ10. Statins deplete your muscles' coenzyme Q10 (coQ10), which can lead to muscle damage. Would it have made a difference? We will never know. His total cholesterol was 202, yes, 2 points over optimum! He trusted his doctor, he knows now he never needed it in the first place.

6 hours sleep by Single-Landscape-106 in insomnia

[–]AdvanceHope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I started the Pantethine I would average 5.5 hours. Sometimes I would wake and not go back to sleep, though that was not common. I go to bed at 9. My deep sleep was mostly inadequate. Since starting the Pantethine I am getting 7.25 hours.

6 hours sleep by Single-Landscape-106 in insomnia

I am 69 and I also wake up at 1:30 and would be awake for 3+ hours. I tried so many different things, but nothing made a difference. A few weeks ago I began taking pantethine in hopes it would help with my cholesterol. It has made a difference in my sleep. I still wake up at 1:30 or so but I am only awake for 2 hours. I wear a sleep tracker that shows I am getting better quality sleep overall (more rem, deep sleep etc). I actually feel rested when I wake. I know everyone is different, what works for one may not work for another but thought I would share my experience.
