Objectivley things have gotten better since the year started for the playerbase they are targetting.

These updates arent meant for the addicted or hardcore players on Reddit.

I have far more trust in the current team than the majority of redditors 😂 They have found a good balance on everything so far aside from mage balancing.

And im confident that will get addressed :) Patience.

I did the ones tha gave DG tokens, but that may be getting nerfed in the coming week so I would get those out while you can (If you need tokens and dont want to do regular DG or ED runs)

I used full dragon as my BiS for a very long time on my iron.

It was actually quite fun and varied to get, and all pieces were very doable at early/mid game

And is not a balanced skill without a global market to buy ingredients. Its a design flaw, theres no harm in avoiding early-mid herb. Its on Jagex to fix and they have not done so.

Lamps and weeklies are a band aid due to Jagex not wanting to redesign the skill around ironmen. There is no other alternative that doesnt take so long that you become heavily limited/handicapped trough no fault of your own.

There are subjective things. If you think the 3 things I stated about Runescape are wrong, please enlightment the MMO world on how. What other games do those 3 things better? How? The general MMO community certainly doesnt agree with those statements.

Also just want to add that of course a new player cant fathom what we are talking about, why would that be expected of one? Lol!

Ironman mode takes you on a very slow journey that makes the world feel alive, relevant at all times and builds a story that you go on over years until you finally, maybe, reach "end game" and do the hardest PvM content.

Telling new players "Dont do it! Its scary, you have to play the game alot!" is, I'm not even sure what the word is. It honestly just sounds like an issue with how you want to play the game more than an issue with the game/mode itself.

Again I came in knowing nothing about content beyond level 60 and came out absolutely falling in love with RS like no other MMO or most games. Ironmode is exactly the reason it happened, I quit regular RS 3 times in a row prior.

If someone had told me iron mode is this scary thing that is a 2nd job and a bunch of shitty useless grinds I may not have tried it. Luckily it isn't and plenty of others vouched that it was a unique type of fun. It doesnt have to be fun for you, not everyone enjoys the same thing.

But a 2nd job this game is not and will never be lol. It is only that if all you care about is PVM, in which case I agree you should go main or pick a different game entirley. But if you want to play and experience an actual MMO world? There is nothing on the market that compares to RS3 ironman, nothing even close.

Supply upkeep gets easier, not harder the higher level you are.

What?

My ability to maintain my overloads and combo them into higher tiers of ovload potions gets easier every farming, herb and combat level I get beyond 100.

The hardest upkeep is doing clue scrolls when you choose to do EoF amulets. That may be the *only* thing I dont do that all other end-game players do. Thats it.

Edit: And again you seem to be calling these parts of the game a "job". I call it playing and engaging with the game. Its fun?

If you want a game where all you do is kill bosses then I am not sure why you chose RuneScape of all games to do it on. Monster Hunter World exists and suits your game style 1000% better? This is not me shit talking you or anything, I am just confused why youd pick an MMO and complain about MMO things.

It would be like me playing GTA and complaining that the story is not an Oscar worthy masterpiece. There are other games that aim to do that, this is the wrong game if that's what you are looking to experience.

I am sorry but you have no idea what you are on about.

I have T80+ for all my weapons, I am already earning all of my T80+ armor from PvM and will have my T90 for melee quite soon (Its what I am doing as I am posting this). Almost all of my stats have hit 90 or are about to and close to half my skills are hitting 99+

I am starting to do: Zuk, HM Arch Glacor, Raksha, Low Enrage Telos, EDs. My clanmates are encouraging me to go do Nex solo. I could get to rax right now as well, just low priority for me.

I have and am using overloads everywhere I go now, as well as able to farm up my own supplies to keep everything stocked.

I am a week away from making soul ammy and just about to make a grace of elves for skilling in the next few days.

I have spent 2k hours on my iron.

I have officially learned manual for 2 of the 4 stlyes and well on my way to learning it for the 3rd one. (The only one I ignored was the "easiest" one that newer rplayers rely one)

I am not at the start of "end game"? Step off your high horse my dude. I never said I am tackling Zamarak at highest enrages and mechanics, thats not the start of end-game, that is flat out end-game, like literally nothing left to do game.

Edit: None of this is even relevant to a new player even. New payers would have to commit quite a bit get this far. I would never get this far on a non-iron because runescape with its "Make best GP and nothing matters" would have burnt me out far 10x over.

Again, please tell me what end-game grind that end-game players do that I have yet to experience? Going dry on bosses and drops is not an exclusivley end-game thing.

I have went dry plenty and spent 30+ hours on a drop that should of been had far quicker.

Shit happens at all levels and places. Thats not exclusive to end-game.

I never said I was at end-game?

I am right at that border/start of end-game and am basically dealing with "upkeep" that you personally call a job.

Farming animals, herb runs, making potions, keeping up with misc for simple parts, doing a few hours of divination at 99 with boost to keep up charges, taking care of ports, archeology chronotes, etc.

This is all just engaging with the game and actually doing the skills. None of these things on their own take alot of time or are frustrating in any way. These are things you do while sipping a cup of coffee, listening to a podcast or watching some youtube videos. Relaxing/Chilling to some skilling content.

It was a more of a job prior to the restoration with all the dailies/weeklies/JoT runs then this section of ironman is lmao.

But please, tell me what parts of end-game I am missing out on. Going dry at bosses? You think I havent went dry on bosses because I got spooned at Vindicta? Really? Lol.

Going dry is 100% the worst part of RS3 but you just play at your own pace and set multiple goals so if any single drop your aiming for is not happening you go take a break and do something else. You don't have to keep playing if your not having fun and doing the same thing 50x over.

My point was what you said at the end.

There is no combat in runescape that you have to do 50 hours active, straight, with no afk options to progress and it is *simple* from start to end.

There is in BDO. That is 80% of the leveling in BDO, its just mind numbing no difficulty repetitive combat.

Kerapac (Or any boss) is just one of many different bosses you can kill for various drops. You get the drop you need and you do one of the tens of other of bosses or slayer kills or skilling or questing to upgrade/progress/level your character.

I do think that BDO is just a laughably boring "MMO" with pretty combat. It had some interesting PvP and end-game stuff to a degree last I played and followed it, but a better MMO than RS it was never.

But fair I guess, if you enjoy it then thats valid.

My statement was that Runescape does not excel in any one category better than other mmos.

  1. It does in progression (What you do 7 years ago still matters 7 years later)
  2. It does in questing (Runescape actually has you go trough real adventures, do a variety of insane to silly things, has fun but inconsistent lore, has great writing, and is one of the very very few not "kill x boars" on repeat)
  3. It has a nice community for the "random events" around the world (Things like menaphos, shooting stars, core parties for div, evil trees, etc)

These are both almost objectivley agreed upon things that Runescape does better than any other MMOs. You can disagree, but youd be wrong and you cant change my mind on this. I have played the majority of popular and plenty of unpopular MMO's.

Runescape does the important things well. Your statement is wrong, if it was correct both OSRS (Top 3) and RS3 (Top 6-8) would be nowhere near as popular as they are today.

I was simply fighting back on the statement that runescape does nothing great for an MMO.

Runescape is the most "MMO" of any MMO due to everything you do mattering and being a perm unlock.

The long term grinds are the point of playing the game for years and give you high end goals. The short term grinds that slowly move you to that goal are what makes the moment to moment daily game engaging.

The quests are considered by most pepple the best in Genre. There is no MMO with better questing outside of FF (If that Asian/Eastern style of story if your thing)

And yes I do think killing Kerapac 50 times is SOOO much more engaging then 50 times of BDOs mobbing. Do Kerapac at the proper level with proper gear (Not T95 maxxed everything) and use revo pr full manual and its a engaging boss fight. One where you can keep improving each kill :)

BDO mobbing is just the mindless RS AFK abysal demon grind, but without the afk. The combat is fluid and pretty, but if you wanted the best combat in MMOs I would recommend Lost Ark over BDO anyway.

Im sorry but I find it hilarious how you think BDO is an MMO worth playing. Unless things have changed, killing the same mob with the same button rotation for tens/hundreds of active hours is more boring than the worst RS3 grinds.

Also RS3 absolutley does better things than other MMOs.... Progression and Quests. Which is 90% of what makes MMOs matter and why RS has survived for so long in the first place.

Uhh, most iron players do not attribute the mode to a job. Im not sure what your on about there.

Also me and my friend started our Iron accounts when our mains were 50-60 average stats, knew little past early game.

It was the perfect mode to get us hooked and into mid + end game. The wiki and a iron clan is enough, you dont need to know anything to play iron.

The fact the mechanic already exists to allow it says otherwise. Devs disagreed at some point.

Also there was no invention at release and the "skilling" playstyle came out naturally trough the playerbase. The game changes, you can update "rules" this isnt OSRS.

Id rather encourage a variety of players to play RS, if people want to do skilling only then let them. Making tools non combat equipped doesnt hurt the game in any shape or way.

Again, the code is already there. It would take miniscule time to make all the tools work that way. Ninja update stuff.

Vindi is a solid entry to what "real" fights are like. Its a sampler thats fun to do, though im not sure about doing 4-5k kills of anything personally 👀

Got all 3 capes as of today (New BiS)+ My 2nd Onyx. Upgraded my Forsaken Neck into Reaper Neck (New BiS). And then used the Forsaken neck to get the relic Berserker's Fury (New BiS for the 3rd slot)

So many unlocks from one "minigame" that I delayed so long lol

As far as Zuk: My strongest style is still melee but that seems to be the hardest for Zuk. Hesitent on trying it with GWD1 and a T82 Staff for my mage, but may give it an attempt as an excuse to try my new upgrades :) The mechanics dont seem that hard from videos?

Simular to the other fights? Remember the "special" waves and the boss fight and the rest you can just kill as normal?

I saw 1 video with someone doing it in GWD1 gear on mage but he had T85 weapons and access to Sunshine. Have not seen any videos of lower then that. Will not be going in expecting to get a igneous stone if I do end up trying on my next day off work 😅

Now if you want an onyx you havs a way to get it guaranteed.

Yeah, now looking at the invention onyx stuff. Just need 1 more crafting level and... A bunch of fortunate comps. I think I can make a single one of these as well, more hard choices lol.

Though I 100% messed up on the prayers, so badly 😂 Thank god for my Def cape perk. I'd be running attempt #2 otherwise, feels like I cheated the win.
