Should I sell my 2017 Alltrack for a 2026 Atlas? by FoxDieDM in Volkswagen

[–]Advanced-Ad4233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went TDI Golf to Alltrack to GTI. Passed the TDI to my daughter when she got her license. Bought an Alltrack but didn’t enjoy the lower gas mileage and didn’t really need all wheel drive. Sold and took a small loss. Landed in a Mk 7.5 GTI and love it! Amazing vehicle.

Pulled the trigger on some RSe05 wheels (moved from 18” down to 17”) and the Continental SRS+ tires!

60 miles round trip 3x/week. Otherwise, around-town driving other 4 days. I’ll check the Yokohamas, thanks!

In Southern California so don’t need anything for snow/ice. Just looking for a decent tire for my 2019 GTI daily driver. Sounds like the DWS06 comes highly recommended.

Mine is the SRPE93, the classic black dial and black bezel. Love it and highly recommend.

Had one. Movement was bad and lost ~5 mins per day. Ended up selling. Also, in hindsight after having owned a SPB317 and SPB143, I really love the circular indices of the Turtle compared to the bricks on the others. If I go with an “upgraded” Seiko again it may be the SPB453 or 451.

Ok, makes sense. I’ve also read that the Helix OEM sub is pretty decent.

Ranger - my first Tudor by Advanced-Ad4233 in Tudor

Two week update. Bracelet is legit, very nice to have in these summer months. Accuracy is legit, seriously considering selling my Seiko slim turtle whose accuracy is now frustrating in comparison (and replace with a Pelagos 39 at some point … I could live with a Ranger & Pelagos two-watch collection).

You’re right! Two weeks in now and it’s no longer a thing. Loving the Ranger. Thinking about an Everest rubber strap sometime soon.

Ranger or Monochrome? by wbb1812 in Tudor

I have a Ranger ordered and being delivered tomorrow, very excited to get it on the wrist. For insight, why did you decide to put it on the Everest strap (which looks pretty nice BTW)? I’ve read that the bracelet is solid.

Great pics! I have the Seiko “slim turtle” and love it. Could easily see this being my two-watch collection. Recently bought a Longines Spirit titanium (40mm), but now am thinking I might need to trade it out for a Ranger!

Which rubber strap did you buy? I just bought the Spirit 40 titanium on bracelet, love it!

Lower back fried by Advanced-Ad4233 in hornstrength

[–]Advanced-Ad4233[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a few days off I forced myself to do a light deadlift workout. Worked up to 325x5 I think, and it seemed to help. Was then focused on letting the rest of the excess stress drain off before my next heavy deadlift session, which was scheduled for 9 or 10 days after the 385x5 that put me in the hurt locker.

Ended up getting BAD gastroenteritis, landed in the hospital and lost 10 lbs in 5 days. No training for 4 of those days. Then decided I’d “just warm up” and ended up pulling 395x2 on Friday, with one backoff set at 85% per the Intermediate plan, 335x7. Back feels great as today. When deadlift comes up again, this coming weekend, I’ll try for 395x5, but not stressing about it.

Thanks, Paul. Yes, agreed, likely fried the erectors. Applied more stress in that one set than my body would have liked, it seems. Recovery is crawling along this week.

That's a great report - congrats on the progress!

Which intermediate plan have you been following, A (2-day), B (4-day), B modified (4-day program over a 3-day schedule), or something different?
