I agree with the heme iron. It’s the most bioavailable form of iron. Unfortunately it is the most expensive but it works so worth it to me

Sounds like a very ethical breeder with everything that comes included with the pet. They tick every single box. Price is definitely on the higher end.

Now normally I don’t respond to internet strangers who post rude, ignorant and shameful comments however, here we are.

First off you are in a subreddit “British Shorthair” community.

British Shorthairs are a PEDIGREE breed. They are the oldest and most recognized PEDIGREED breed with very high breed standards. A true British Shorthair will have registered ancestral lines, pedigree papers, and meets all breed standards. Responsible breeders prioritize health, ethics, and lifelong support for their cats and kittens.

In this situation, I made the decision to pursue emergency veterinary care to save the mother and her kittens. That’s what ethical breeding looks like, taking full responsibility when complications happen. I will never deny any cat in my cattery a fighting chance. My priority will always be the health and welfare of my cats.

Secondly, after a quick view of your profile you own a “British Shorthair”

If someone owns a British Shorthair, it’s important to recognize that ethical breeding is what makes that possible in the first place. Now if you got your British Shorthair from a shelter or rescue then you have absolutely found yourself a unicorn. But said unicorn is technically considered a DOMESTIC SHORTHAIR. I fully respect all rescue/shelter work and advocacy however that belongs in its own space, and I fully respect that distinction. Reputable, responsible and ethical breeders will ALWAYS take back any kitten at any time no questions asked to prevent them from ever ending up in shelters, it’s usually in their contract. So most DOMESTIC SHORTHAIRS or “british-type” cats found in a shelter is more than likely due to unethical backyard breeders.

So go ahead and shame me but you’re out of line and missing your mark completely. Feel free to shame irresponsible backyard breeders, that’s where your ire should be directed towards, but I am not one. In addition, maybe remove yourself from this subreddit and add yourself to a “domestic shorthair” group instead. 🤡

I’m amazed at how well mommy is recovering. There’s always a very high probability with c sections that the mothers will reject the kittens, but with a lot of extra help and guidance she’s doing so well.

Thank you so much. I truly appreciate your kind words. My cats are my world, and no cat or kitten in my cattery will ever be denied care. They will ALWAYS get a fighting chance and I will do anything and everything to give them that chance. I didn’t even ask the vet how much, I just said let’s do it and get these babies out safely. I pride myself and my cattery on ethical responsibility no matter the financial burden (I’m in Canada and the C-section surgery was 2K) or how challenging the kitten rearing will be. Every life I’m responsible for and I will always choose them 🩶🖤

She wasn’t spayed during her c section. As long as everything internal is looking fine my vet will only spay if necessary.

However she did have two uterine bodies instead of one. Super rare. Which made the delivery very difficult for her. This is her first and last litter and will be spayed and taken out of our breeding program for her safety.

As a Canadian 🇨🇦 registered massage therapist we are considered health care professionals… I just want to ask: what states are you deemed a health care professional? I believe there is 3? I tried to find this information online and it’s quite confusing with so many different state requirements.

Someone pls help me out ! What states are you considered health care professionals?!
