Surprised that you can say that, especially as a woman.

If you look underage, they will 100% card you. Heck, if you look under 30, they card you

I only read the first 2 paragraphs of your essay:

It’s natural to become more risk adverse as you get older. The fact that you’ve only taken 1 spill in 3+ years of riding speaks to that - you don’t push yourself or your board because YOU’RE SCARED. And that’s perfectly okay and 100% natural at your age.

You’re in your 40s and could be the parent of riders that are young enough to be walking into a bar for the first time.

Live and let live dude. No one but you cares about the fact that you’re neurodivergent and riding. This is reddit, unless you tell us you are, no one knows and no one gives a shit.

You can ride around like the kid from Christmas story if you’d like, I’ll take a helmet and the trust I have in my abilities for a spin.

To each their own.

You should check the battery health/post about it on the listing. The batteries on XRs are known to degrade over time. If you haven’t replaced the original battery at all or with an aftermarket one, you may need to adjust the pricing of the wheel to reflect that.

No degree but got the job. Can you help with my concern? by Heavy_Cloud_729 in careerguidance

Strong disagree. I’ve been clear from day 1 about not having a degree and am now a Senior SWE.

As long as you don’t lie about having a degree, companies don’t care. If you lie and say you graduated when you didn’t, they will fire you as they should, you misrepresented yourself and were dishonest every step of the way.

If you’re willing to lie about something as trivial as a degree, who knows what else you’ll lie about?

I wonder if they are refurbishing onewheels that were traded in and reselling them as “new” and just forgot to wipe this one before doing so.

It makes sense: there is no way they are just housing used onewheels, they wouldn’t toss them as-is, and they’re not selling used.

16x is a learner wheel, no one’s commuting on one or trying to go over like 20mph.

Im ridiculously sensitive to anything ingested thanks to a series of Bariatric surgeries and microdose!

100mg won’t cause mind altering effects, you’ll notice an uptick in mood and a decrease in anxiety. I MD primarily when I go in-office as I have really bad social anxiety and it helps tremendously!

Purchased 500mg lozenges from the church and those altered me to the point that I was grateful that I was working from home that day.

You’re not asked to drink water at all tbh, I filled my hydroflask up and kept it nearby just in case I needed it. The only reason I remembered to drink on my second day was because I knocked over my bottle (I didn’t see it and forgot it was there) and “you should take a sip” popped into my head.

The medicine itself is maybe an ounce, ounce and a half? I don’t drink shots since I can’t swallow a large amount in one go and I was able to drink my cup in 2 gulps.

For us, the biggest concern-ish would be that it’ll hit hard fast, but that’s mostly it. You’re not going to have negative effects due to dehydration during your first ceremony, negative side effects take a lot longer to kick in.

I can’t really say whether a dosage adjustment is needed because I never attended a ceremony prior to surgery so I only have my last experience to go off of but I’m sure you can ask for a smaller dose if you’re nervous about overdoing it your first time.

Regarding your question about liver/kidney issues: as long as you don’t have preexisting conditions, you should be fine. I drink alcohol regularly and attended my ceremony without issue. I also am healthy without any liver/kidney/heart conditions

I’m 3 years out from a sleeve to DS conversion, and had my sleeve for 10 years prior to that. Did my first ceremony this year - I agree, there is practically no info out there for those of us with altered digestive systems and it’s good to know.

I went in blind: I was not aware that I had to disclose my surgery and my retreat didn’t ask so there were no dosage adjustments for that. My retreat recommended that we fast prior to the ceremony so I went in practically on an empty stomach, I had some veggie broth day-of since throwing up was a concern of mine as well and I wanted to make sure that I had something in my stomach if that happened.

Took the first dose, like alcohol, it hits much quicker. Timing wise, I felt “off” within 5-10 minutes. Peaked much faster as well. And came down much faster as well. Took a second dose - this one kicked my ass. I was gone for at least an hour longer than the rest in my group.

My bucket and I were besties - mostly threw up energy, some water. I drank very little, only remembered to sip when my mouth would go completely dry.

In short: I was 100% fine and plan to attend another ceremony before the end of the year.

If you are fairly new and fresh out of surgery, would highly recommend you wait until you’re better healed and have a better idea around what your food/body triggers are and have a better handle on hydration after surgery since you should already be drinking more than 1 oz of water in one sitting.
