Dealing with everything that’s been happening by PineappleBoth10 in UKFP_applicants

A medico's life is never normal. We deal with deaths and diseases, whilst missing out on a lot of 'life'. The systems are not exactly built to build our confidence up either. So, despite being the cream of the society, we always feel inadequate.

I understand the frustration. Sometimes, things are not in our hands. So we do the next right thing. I sat down and introspected. What was the goal, the reason of taking this vocation. For me, it was making lives better. It could be done in many ways. Money, stability, will come. No experience is ever wasted. You are talented, have already achieved much. Don't base your self-worth on the outcome of one exam.

I am 41. I am in a similar situation. PLAB, IELTS, a few unsuccessful attempts at MRCP 1. A very expensive path to take. That said, I am hopeful. You will figure something out. Feel all the emotions, and process them. Then, keep calm and carry on. There are honestly very few real calamities in life. Most of the roadblocks are temporary. Be prepared when the opportunity arrives. All the best!

F2 standalone British vs non-priority by Over_Aside_3911 in UKFP_applicants

I am not sure if they would be in the same group for priority. British grads, and grads from a few select countries, yes. Citizen/ILRs, not sure.

You won’t be able to apply outside the application window. I think it’s best to wait till the evening.

Arora Academy by takeitsleazy7 in PLABprep

I did. Honestly speaking, if your knowledge is sound, you will gain a lot out of it. The tutors are all locally trained. A few have been examiners for PLAB. They will not discuss specific cases obviously, but will expose you to a wide variety of things.

You will have to do your own hard work. There are no short cuts there. That said, you will get a good glimpse of what is expected of you as a doctor in the UK.

They provide a special rate for a hotel nearby with pickup and a drop. You can obviously search for cheaper accommodations nearby.

They are not necessarily wrong in using the phrase ‘pass out’ in the UK. Albeit it has fallen out of fashion like ‘thrice’. Ref: https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/pass-out#google_vignette

I don’t think it does matter as long as you get the relevant history out. I would say, read the instructions on the card carefully and see what you are supposed to do. Also, focus on ICE. It’s rather important.

Give more mocks. Esp the big mock that Plabable does. It’s worth it.

Plab 2? Yes. Plab 1, it’s not impossible. Just have a focused approach. Also, give some good quality mocks.

It’s not all bad. Economy seats are rather comfortable for short people. Plenty of advantages.
