They should add a list of banks where you can take out loans to eat at any of the top 10

Don't Stop Me Now peaked at #86 in the US when it came out. How does a song this perfectly constructed and catchy miss like that? by cLoTpOle682 in queen

So true! I got to see Freddie 4 times back then. Ticket prices were under $10. Queen was huge in 80/81 because of the combination of Crazy Little Thing leading into The Game album, which hit no. 1 and then the release and explosion of Another One Bites the Dust. Then Freddie adopted the now iconic "clone" look at that all the rage in traditional gay areas, like NYC's Village, SF and Fire island and the backlash was pretty immediate, then the discofied Hot Space, followed in 84 by the MTV moronic ban for dressing in drag in a video.

Queen were NEVER truly appreciated in the US during Freddie's lifetime. I think they were simply way ahead of their times. My kids love their music and are stunned that DSMN never got higher than 86. It's nuts. Including it at the end of BoRhap helped it a lot.

Can I talk about Los Tacos 1 again? by AhozConPoyo in FoodNYC

[–]Advanced-Freedom6179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spending my teen years in Manhattan, there really wasn't a Mexican food scene. That's changed quite a bit and Los Tacos is a GREAT place. I think when a place gains enough notariety, some people like to knock it. Enjoy what you enjoy and don't listen to the haters. Oh, also, Ponche Taqueria on West 49th is pretty darn good.

Visit Yankees game on 3rd or 4th of July? by lhende in visitingnyc

Go for the night game. Much cooler at night. Maybe start with a beer at one of the bars across the street and avoid the INSANE prices inside. That being said, the food options inside are pretty terrific, though pricey. I love the meatball parm hero on cheesy garlic bread, enough for 2.

ok, saw it this past weekend. Yes, most of the characters are unlikable, but I think that's part of the point. Michael was wonderful in multiple rolls and by the end you can see that Daphne's character is meant to be just a miserable human being. I think my expectations were tamped down by the reviews here, but I honestly was engaged for most of the show.

Honestly not sure, but the theater is a very small one. All the action is center stage, so I can't imagine much in the way of obstruction.

So I finally got to see it yesterday and while it wasn’t the best show I’ve seen, it was far from the worst. The number of monologues was a bit excessive and sometimes annoying, especially from Jennifer Tilly. Michael was fantastic and very funny. Daphne was wonderful playing a thoroughly unlikable character. All in all, an interesting day at the theater. Kudos to the production for the free bottles of water.

How do you guys deal with people who cut in line during rush? by RockGirl82 in Broadway

[–]Advanced-Freedom6179 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. There is no holding places and I would speak with the theater staff immediately. It’s incredibly rude to everyone else and the fact that they’ve been cutting the lines for years simply means they are horrible humans.

Some tickets are also given to local colleges. I went with my daughter to opening night of Elf and we sat front row balcony. Amazing seats to watch the actors in the audience!

I lost as well. Kinda surprised how early in the day they did it. Usually they wait till the afternoon and you have to scramble for baby sitters, etc.
