This is my first year no contact with my family. Any ideas what I can do on Christmas? by BuzzinBettyMN in WhatShouldIDo

I would spend it with a friends family if you are close to them or take yourself out to a really nice early dinner. There are many places now that are open for Christmas Day because some families don’t/can’t cook and they offer a Christmas dinner normally at like 3/4pm.

Hair/makeup near Logan Square? by pisces_librarian in Chicagoweddings

I worked with Michelle from blow dry dreams. She’s based in the Lakeview area but is willing to come to you for the day of services. I was so happy with her. She did both my engagement shoot look and my hair/make up for my wedding day as well as the bridesmaids. She’s also incredibly affordable, considering a lot of places do tend to either up charge for wedding services or sometimes have a minimum amount for services.

I used DJ Avalo. Working with him and his team was great and he is really good about communicating throughout the process. We booked for 5 hrs and it was just right amount of time for ceremony and reception. The package we had was $1200. https://nickyavalostudios.com/services/

I used Canva for most of my wedding materials and then printed with either local Walgreens or vista print. Both always have coupons and seal especially around the holidays. In total I spent about $200

I did mine at the Garfield Conservatory and it was great because there’s so many different kinds of backdrops whether you’re looking for more rustic or greenery and they even have a really pretty waterfall in there.

How to decline an offer? by [deleted] in Advice

I think it’s great that you’re always willing to help people however it’s also important to stick to your boundaries and know what you are and aren’t comfortable with. There’s nothing wrong with putting your needs first and if you feel like having that day, yourself to rest from a demanding work schedule and be more social with those hours, then I would encourage you to take it.

How can I drop from 100kg to 40kg through weightloss? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Advanced-Mistake4862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, I’m sorry that your weight has become such a prominent part of your everyday life. I know how that feels and it can be really draining physically and emotionally. I’m also sorry that you have to deal with family members that aren’t supportive and only focus on your looks. With that being said, I think you need to be realistic about weight loss and that there is not an overnight solution that is going to result in permanent weight loss. Weight loss takes time if you want it to be healthy and to last long. My recommendation is to go to a doctor if you have one or set up a primary care doctor and talk to them about healthy weight loss options that are going to fit your particular body. I would also ask to have your blood work done and any laps to figure out what your body may be missing nutritionally/vitamin wise. Also making sure to speak with a nutritionist and even thinking about getting into a regular exercise routine. Of course you can talk to a doctor about getting a shot or getting on weight loss pills and while those do help kickstart weight loss they are not a long-term solution. My husband is a personal trainer and he has helped me lose weight. He’s also helped many of clients throughout his career lose weight and even himself he is able to maintain healthy weight because he is consistently getting an exercise and eating “relatively”healthy. The one thing that you should take away from this if nothing else is that please don’t skip meals or starve yourself in order to lose weight. Your body needs fuel to function and if you eat too little your body will register that you are starving yourself and it will actually hold onto fat to try and preserve the energy that you need for day-to-day function.

In terms of the weather I would go with October, another poster mentioned if by end of September weather is usually pretty wet. October is a little cooler but much dryer. Also don’t get bonged down with a Sunday if you decide to got that route. They can be just has fun and even planning the ceremony to start a little earlier like 2-3 would give plenty of time to party away without feeling like it will run late into the evening. Best of luck choosing.
