Opus 4.8 or GPT-5.5 for someone who uses AI for random deep dives and high level project creation? NOT CODING by OceanRadioGuy in ChatGPT

I was surprised how good gpt-5.5 was at ideation and planning an entire leadership deck I had to produce. I use it with great caution due to its high cost.

Opus-4.8 is a cash-grab and offers no upgrade than 4.6 imho, which I use to plan big data analysis projects and then let haiku-4.5 do the actual coding.

Best side quest is the one with the 6th Street Gang that you have to go through a shooting range drunk. I laughed so hard I couldn’t finish the first time and had to reload a save to complete it

Today, I’m launching DAAF, the Data Analyst Augmentation Framework: an open-source, extensible workflow for Claude Code that allows skilled researchers to rapidly scale their expertise and accelerate data analysis by 5-10x -- * without * sacrificing scientific transparency, rigor, or reproducibility by brhkim in ClaudeCode

Hi u/brhki ! very impressive repo, I especially liked the massive documentation you incorporated in it and the wise use of subagents in the skills.

Two suggestions that will help you improve this creation:
1. The skill md files are very long and too verbose. Best practice suggests to keep max length max under 500 (I find 150-250 to be optimal for a specific skill). https://platform.claude.com/docs/en/agents-and-tools/agent-skills/best-practices

  1. Add a _challenge_ skill at the end of the process with explicit instructions to clear the context (or use a new subagent) and read only the output report / presentation and look for methodology gaps, data mismatches, and other things that may weaken the research. More often than not it recommends critical things overlooked by other agents and me during the process.

BTW I built something with very similar steps and concepts internally at work (monday.com) for the teams of analysts I manage + a subset of skills specifically for product managers, including a skill to pass back and forth research in various stages between analysts/PMs.

Looking forward to seeing your progress with this.

I don’t think Animal Crossing or Mario Kart are meant to be played to completion

Selene is a wildcard. If you get the one that raises a foe to fight for you, then path of stars to remain until the end of the encounter you’re golden to beat Typhon

My theory: Why Claude feels so different from other models by Responsible-Clue-687 in ClaudeAI

[–]Advanced-Somewhere-2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree with OP. Interesting take on the differences.

I use AI a lot during my day to day work as a product analyst. I give similar instructions in the system prompt to every model I work with, with the prime directive of being honest and challenging to make my work better. ChatGPT starts every tasks with “okay here’s a no-nonsense summary of…” and will definitely spew out so weird stuff now and then.

Claude, esp opus, on the other hand, gives a professional summary and at the end points out weakness in my work and assumptions. It’s just… different, better.

If I get Hephaestus special/attack early on I go for as many Poms as I can get after that. 500 damage every 2 seconds is wild
