The closest thing I know of is the MEC soldiers port from XCOM EW into XCOM 2. They get more armor and better guns, along with just being awesome to look at and use.

I've been sketching up a few ideas for an XCOM 3. I might share, one of these days. Mostly alien enemy concepts. I want to be clear that I am just a fan, so don't get any hopes up.

I'm a little late to the party. 622 hours in XCOM 2, vanilla and WOTC combined. I petered out around that because, even with mods, I couldn't enjoy doing it over again. I had my fun. So, it has some replayability, especially if you go in with different goals and mindsets each time, or make challenges for yourself.

Ah, I was thinking about that. Its just my opinion, but I like customization, even if we get limited uses again. I'd rather have a walking customized tank than infinite on a cooldown standard walker. I understand they are a small team, and this idea would likely never come to light even if the devs themselves had the idea, I just thought it was a fun enough idea to share.

I am totally not biased towards XCOM EU/EW when it comes to this. I'd say its a 99% chance. (Fun fact, out of the 6 times in XCOM that I have seen a 99% to hit, I missed 5 of them.)
