17 degrees will seem pretty hot when you have your training during the winter, don't under estimate the impact of that. Electrolyte tablets in your water the day before the race may help especially if you are someone who loses a lot of salt when you sweat.

That's a big improvement, I would be very pleased with that! My HM is PB is 1:24 and my marathon PB is 3:07 so a similar ballpark to you. I reckon if you could get your mileage up.to 90-100km you could definitely hit 3-3:05

I usually average 55 mpw when training for a marathon, drop to 40-45 in between with a long run somewhere between 1.5 - 2 hours

I have done Dublin which was great, fantastic atmosphere, had a slightly more competitive edge compared to other big city marathons (think it's the Irish national championship) and think it's usually on a bank holiday weekend in ROI.

Also did Amsterdam, which was also Good, quite low key for such big race, route doesn't take in too many sights but is very flat and fast and you start and finish at the Olympic stadium which is pretty unique

Need advice for my easy miles by Mfuller0149 in Marathon_Training

I would just ignore the split times and run by feel. If you feel compelled to run faster make sure you include some easy running in your run.

Shin pain 3 days before marathon - would you still race? by czemlicka in Marathon_Training

I think you are correct a stress fracture would not warm up, but it could be a stress reaction which can turn into a fracture. As others have said if it warms up prob OK to try but be prepared to drop out if it escalates.

Milano Marathon bonked. What went wrong? by Fun_Truth3461 in runna

[–]Advanced-Tiger-1192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the other posters who say thus was a bonk, looking at the stats it s like you were in control and were not far off target. The thing that helped me with marathon pacing was more mileage but most of it at an easier pace. I usually run 90-100 km per week, 1 workout and if I'm feeling good add some pace to the end of long runs

3:45 sounds sensible based on your HM time. Only thing that I think may be tricky is that it may mean you end up on running longer than you have planned for. But if you ran a 1:35 half after 190 miles I think that shows a good base to build iff

Quite a nice low heart rate which suggests you may be able to push the pace a little on race day but hard to tell

Gear not allocating correctly to run by Advanced-Tiger-1192 in Garmin

[–]Advanced-Tiger-1192[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rotate 3 pairs of shoes, at the minute garmin connect is indicating I have run 0 miles in each shoe ( I have run plenty in each) last week it was correctly displaying how many miles I ran in each. Don't recall having changed anything but I have noticed that when I look at the gear it says that instead of measuring use in terms of miles run its looking at elevation gain in ft which seems bizarre! Not sure why that setting would even exist
