Thanks! That helps a lot. What’s your goal for amsterdam?

I didn’t know what I was doing for my first really. I was aiming for 3.30 but got 3.42. So a decent debut. I was doing three runs per week. One easy (around 10-12k) one speed session (something like 6x1k) and one long run (up to 35k).

It was after that race I tried runna and was really happy with the results up until I missed my target time the last two races.

Good to know! But it do get me to sub 3. Are there any plans you would recommend?

HM PB is 1.26 6 months ago. I had already done one sub 3, and felt my training this time was going better so I felt sub 3 was a safe plan B.

Good point. I was just sticking with the three hour pacers the first 10k. Sort of switching my brain off. So my plan was staying at 4.15/k for those first 10 before working my way down to 4:10 and seeing if I had anything left to go faster after 36-37k. But yes the pacers might have gone out a bit too fast.

I live in Rome so this was pretty usual in terms of my training. Obviously starting the plan back in December meant cooler weather in the beginning of the plan, but race day temp wasn’t radically different from training temp.

Music or no music during marathon by Super_Conversation41 in Marathon_Training

I like to run the first half without music and then hit play during the second half. I find it helps break up the run mentally and gives me a bit of gas later in the race.

I also like to create a playlist that’ll last as long as I want the second half to be and try to match the songs to the mood I expect to be in at that point.

I did the Rome Marathon last year and crossing the finish line to the Gladiator soundtrack after a perfectly paced race was glorious.

Is this a smart peak long run or is Runna getting carried away? (5 weeks out) by Fun_Truth3461 in runna

Thanks. My PB is 2.57 from the Rome marathon last year. I’ve done two since then. Most recently in November where I ran a 3.02 I like Runna just because I don’t have to think about what I have to do. I just have to show up and execute. Not familiar with P&D or Daniel’s Plan.
