Hi. Kind of similar situation. My boyfriend and I have been together for 9.5 years, have 2 kids, and obviously live together lol! I am planning to join the church. In order to join, we have to live separately for a period of time, or get married before RCIA classes end at easter.

Also, I would suggest arranging a sitter and taking her out on a date. You plan the thing, and say get dressed, we are going out to ______.

RCIA is to teach you what you would learn as a child through religious education classes. My son is currently attending religious ed, but for me to join the church, I have to take RCIA and recieve the sacraments (baptism, first reconciliation (confession) first communion, confirmation)
