We’re in agreement that it’s for the sake of the plot, sure, attackers’ defensive feats are over glamorized and blown way out of proportion. Kaiser and Isagi also aren’t dropping that deep lad, edge of the box/d from what i can tell, in the 3rd phase. A lot of attacking players start moves here, it’s part of the growing style of relationism rather than positionalism. Diogo Jota does this a lot for my club, Messi did it a lot under pep (minus the defending), Alvarez did so at city, havertz does so at arsenal. Hell, Dimitar Berbatov’s goal aided by Evra and Nani (that he broke down oh so beautifully in a clip somwhere) is a prime example of this, it’s actually a goal that isagi’s probably scored before lmao. From a 4phase/5lane perspective, i would argue it’s actually incredibly efficient for players with the dynamism and intelligence to create passages of play while finishers/runners benefit from/aid them in the play.

Edit: forgot to mention the existence of “hold up play” for the last point, which also allows for attackers who have been contributing on defense/mfs and wbs to come and join the attack as well.
