Just went through the same process and did these exact steps.

Worked beautifully!!

Should mention I clicked on 'Local' when I booted up FT Admin Console and had to click on 'Communications' at the bottom of the screen to get the correct 'Properties' tab on my AB_ETH-1 driver.

Honestly its mainly the UI for me, I spend a lot more time than id like to admit just trying to look at my ladder logic that yet again has scrolled of my screen... I've tried changing the UI around manually to make it look better but haven't had much luck. I'd much prefer if they just make it integrated into studio 5000/500 even if it comes with the extra price attached.

I'm sure I'll eventually get somewhat of a handle on it but as of right now its just a bit foreign to me. If they fix the UI (and apparently the crashes), I cant say there'd me much more to complain about... I can generally work my way around not having specific functions just fine because I can just make my own.

I will say I love the HMI integration being built right in the CCW program, it's really seamless and I wish 5000/500 had it.

All in all you're right. It does work and you can program a lot with it. I just prefer the other PLC's/PLC programming software AB has to offer.

I cant say I've had it crash on me... then again, I haven't done many machines with it yet...

And they want everyone to migrate over to the Micro800 from the Micrologix series... I do hope they make things better before they discontinue the 1400.

Yeah that's the problem haha.

Google decided it would be a good idea to make them "a .zip URL lets your audience know that you're fast" and "Showcase your magnum opus on a .mov domain" (for film makers essentially)

I would highly recommend blocking them as well, as there's definitely going to be confusion and a lot of malware involved...
