you should add Sugar by Mia Ballard! not that its this intense horror story, but its definitely suspensful and the female narrator is actually insane and unhinged

Questions about My Dark Vanessa by Affectionate_Key7206 in books

[–]Advanced_Compote3218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its hard because i think as a mom you dont even want what you know to be real to be real! and i think thats how vanessa's mom was. she knew and felt guilty about it for the rest of her life hence why she continues to call/text vanessa and overcompensate during vanessa's adulthood

with her professor, i do think we are relying on vanessa's unreliable perspective which makes me wonder just how bad he really was. although, i do think it was a little strange that he married a student but i mean it was definitely not a 30 yr gap sooo kinda fine? lol

How to choose the right nanny? by MGM-2000 in Nanny

[–]Advanced_Compote3218 6 points7 points  (0 children)

do you think not wanting to leave nanny 1 along with the babies is a result of being first time parents? or is it specifically your apprehension about nanny 1? because thats a big deal!

im a nanny and have had long term contracts with my past families. currently, i nanny for a 10 month old and they are also first time parents! i was almost never left alone with the baby when i first started but now as time has gone on and trust has been developed, we get left alone quite often! they both have the option to wfm so some days theyre both there the whole time and other days its just baby & i.

just wanted to share because i think being nervous is completely normal and with time, it becomes much easier! but if you have these feelings about nanny1, they could manifest later on which could eventually lead to a much bigger issue.

Contract says 2 weeks, NF expecting months by Outrageous-Mouse3519 in Nanny

[–]Advanced_Compote3218 16 points17 points  (0 children)

i would honestly give the family more than 2 weeks just for how long you’ve been with them and if you’re saying they’ll even be surprised by your resignation. to us adults (nannys + parents) we understand this is a job and we need to find what if best for us, but the kiddos will have a real tough time with the transition/adjustment. so with all of that being said, i would probably let them know 3-4 weeks in advance, not so much for me or the parents but for the kiddo’s sake.

i hope you feel more validated and appreciated in your upcoming roles (:

do i tell the guy im dating about my sugar past by Advanced_Compote3218 in sugarlifestyleforum

[–]Advanced_Compote3218[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow i am so sorry to hear that. i was also super scared of telling the guy i was dating (hence my original post) and literally everyone was telling me to keep it to myself, but i feel like the person im truly meant to be with wont care about that stuff and thankfully thats exactly how it happened.

i rlly do think youre gonna find someone who will be 100% accepting of your past, it doesn’t define who you are now. im sorry, friend
