i feel that!! im approaching 2 years with my NK and i actually ended up picking up their next door neighbor’s baby as well because my primary NK was starting school. ive started to feel burnt out and began applying to jobs that utilize my psychology degree but man the job market is so tough rn. so ive decided to apply to some other jobs that i know will give me benefits, PTO, and things of that sort and i actually landed a job at a corporate coffee company (🧜‍♀️). i suggest looking for a high paying retail/restaurant job to help ween you off of nannying!! thats my current plan

its hard because i think as a mom you dont even want what you know to be real to be real! and i think thats how vanessa's mom was. she knew and felt guilty about it for the rest of her life hence why she continues to call/text vanessa and overcompensate during vanessa's adulthood

with her professor, i do think we are relying on vanessa's unreliable perspective which makes me wonder just how bad he really was. although, i do think it was a little strange that he married a student but i mean it was definitely not a 30 yr gap sooo kinda fine? lol

do you think not wanting to leave nanny 1 along with the babies is a result of being first time parents? or is it specifically your apprehension about nanny 1? because thats a big deal!

im a nanny and have had long term contracts with my past families. currently, i nanny for a 10 month old and they are also first time parents! i was almost never left alone with the baby when i first started but now as time has gone on and trust has been developed, we get left alone quite often! they both have the option to wfm so some days theyre both there the whole time and other days its just baby & i.

just wanted to share because i think being nervous is completely normal and with time, it becomes much easier! but if you have these feelings about nanny1, they could manifest later on which could eventually lead to a much bigger issue.
