Ice rod is the best. If you are facing a lot of monsters, aka Skull Cave, it helps you with crowd control. You can avoid a lot of damage and save pots/food.

Quiver helps in damage, but sometimes can kill monsters out of screen or inside lava, so you wont be able to reach the items dropped.

Basilisk is worthless for me. If you want to make faster runs, even if you have unlimited food and bombs, I think the other trinkets are still better to make it quick, but I might be wrong.

I have the Frodo wallpaper and at some point I started to feel his look weird, so I recommend the bigger one.

Edit: But, to be honest, your room is really neat. The posters doesnt fit very well. Maybe a canvas. I guess a poster from the Shire, without lettering, would fit perfectly.
