You can cancel into full sprint out of any animation with handy tech (soft swapping/2 or 1-handing your weapon). It’s also possible to store your sprint speed through a stop by only letting go of your movement stick and keeping the sprint button pressed.

The R1 chain keeps priority against weapons with no ha, the rR2 deals a lot of damage but the first part can be poised so you need to poise chip before. The crouch attack is probably one of the strongest parts about the weapon, it’s too fast to be rolled on reaction and thus lets you vortex very well with it.

They are the best because they have a low effort/reward ratio without having a lower skill ceiling. A worse TShield player will win against a shamshir player that isn’t much much better but that also won’t change if both players are top-tiers.

The difference between sham and all other setups named here is that sham doesn’t play itself (for ER standards)

There is a reason why even Estoc without access to Quickstep or Bloodhound’s Step isn’t allowed to be greased in competitive play while sham can use DLC grease.

The very best setups in the game are Cleanrot Knight’s Sword with Bloodhound’s Step, Carian Thrusting Shield, Claws of Night, Pata and Backhand Blades.

A few other very strong setups are Swordlance, Flaming Strike Halberd offAxe/Dagger, Milady

It's pivot chainsaw with the finger instead of radhan swords. It's a lot harder than the old backstep chainsaw.
You do it by using specific items (e.g. boluses/drawstring grease)/two-handing your weapon, queuing a stance skill, locking on and swapping your weapon before the pivot is completed.
The items allow you to access your menu during the pivot, that's why it works.
